Review: Eureka Seven

Plot Summary: Renton Thurston is a 14-year-old boy who lived with his mechanic grandfather in a backwater town. Every day he dreamed of being with the mercenary “Light Finding Operation (LFO)” aircraft pilot group “Gekkostate” and riding “Trapar” particle waves– a sport called “reffing”– with their charismatic leader Holland, especially when faced with his father’s acclaimed past or his grandfather’s desire to protect him. When a young girl named Eureka riding the original LFO, the “Nirvash typeZERO”, asks his grandfather for a tune-up, she inadvertently brings the attention of the military to the garage; as a result, the garage is destroyed and Renton is forced to deliver a new type of interface– the “Amita Drive”– to the Nirvash. After a heated fight in which the Nirvash destroys the military LFOs by unleashing an immense amount of power, Renton is invited into Gekkostate. However, he quickly realizes that behind the facade of a traveling group of mercenaries is a very bitter reality.
This is one of the best animes I have seen in a while, it has a great story line and your never left bored from the anime. The last 13 episodes of the series kept flying through, I really wanted to keep watching non-stop during the end of the series. Its one amazing story about Renton who doesnt know what he got himself into. You get pulled in more and more into the reality of the war and its affects on the people, and trying to figure out what exactly is going on in their world, lots of things happening in the background, but Renton has to believe in himself, Eureka (the main female character), and Nirvash (the Mecha) to come through in all the cases. There is comedy, drama, and a hell of a lot of entertainment in this anime. It is not just a mecha based anime, there is alot of character development and you get tied into their lives and pulled into the whole story, once the ball gets rolling it only keeps going faster down the hill. This anime is extremely enjoyable and I recommend it for anyone who likes anime to watch it.

sorry i asked :P

Yazeed: lol! hehehe

I dont understand how grown ups like them, theyr cartoons..

They remind me of pokemon and those types of cartoons..

OMG! I’m so addicted on this show…I watch it every Saturday on Adult Swim. I have no idea that this show was soooo good.

Amo0ora: Many of them have deep, and very complex stories.. they arent that simple at all. The art and drawings with the storyline bring out the characters, just like when you love a series, but just a little deeper love, because you have more freedom to do as you please!

Fallen Angel: When I say its good, then Adult Swim gets it! hehehe! It really has a great storyline with fantastic animation!

Eureka Seven has been my number one favorite anime for the past year. I finished the series nearly six months ago and I’m still watching it today. The story is enriching and the love between Renton and Eureka is an emotional roller-coaster. I’ve never seen an anime come close to the greatness of Eureka Seven. All of the characters undergo a maturing change, which is a breath of fresh air compared to other animes that have one dimensional characters that hardly change (I’m talking more along the lines of supporting characters). The art has some of the most spectacular visuals that you’ll see within an anime, and its consistent as well.

Some of my other favorite animes consist of: Death Note, Elfen Lied, Fullmetal Alchemist, Bleach, Naruto, the .hack// series, and Onegai Twins.

Metal Superman: I agree with you 100%! The consistancy throughout the whole anime is great! You really enjoy it and you can watch it again, there are only a few in my book which are worth repeating and this is one of them as you said! And your completely right about the supporting characters having more then one dimension to them, and they just did an amazing job with it! My favorite list is extremely long!

iso if i come here i can watch eurka seven when ever i want??

Eureka Seven is one of the best anime that i’ve seen, i love all of the characters and they have so much personality. It’s a good combo of great characters, hilariousness, and action. Who wouldn’t wanna watch giant robots air surf and fight each other???? :D

Eureka Seven…….i’m such an idiot for not noticing this anime in the past.. i just got the anime and finish watching it 2 day’s ago and its one of the best anime i’ve ever watch…man, i’ve watch a lot of anime, but not all of them is comparable to e7…. it’s a MUST to watch.. :P

nirvash: come where? lol

Monyluv: very true!

k0d0k15: Its one of the good ones!

Hello
I just wanted to give you guys my opinion. All the comments you have given are all true, but lets face it. It is impossible to give a review which can do the anime justice. There are so many themes and so many feelings in it. It is something that needs to bee watched not read before it can be understood.

That said, i can’t help myself but to say this:
Nether is think it is supposed to be funny at the beginning. Renton is young and does not understand the world he lives in that well. Later when Renton starts to grow older. He sees that things are not the way that his childish mind thinks they are. He starts to understand what the gekkostate really is, he begins to understand why people are the way they are. Renton grows up and becomes a man in the end.

Still you must understand that i meant what I said in the start. There are just way too many feelings and themes to talk about. You guys really have to see it for yourself. I also think that if you would start to analyze the story scene by scene it would destroy some of the magic attached to it. :)

I guess what i am trying to say is that i fell for this anime by episode 13 i was so hooked that i saw the rest of it non stop. So if anyone needs something to do in their summer vacation then Eureka Seven is my recommendation for you!
