maha: its really sad, is there that much corruption and disorganization that they can't figure out and implement solutions to the power outages since last year!

eliedh: We do have UPSs for the servers and such but that only last 30 minutes, maximum 45 to shut them all down properly. Not 3.5 hours of running, and generators arent cheap!!

moocherx: loooooooooool! I didn't know you guys just took off like that! hehehe

Ansam: Tarsheed is a bit annoying they really aren't tackling the problem. They are just putting bandaids on big problems. I am thinking about putting a generator in our house as well, but I need to see our power requirements as well!

Laialy: It was hot, very hot! We weren't just sitting there, it was paperwork and a lot of phone calls!!

N: That is really annoying, there is no accountability for business lost like in the states where you can sue the government for lost business!

i just assume that people would wait around for an hour and if nothing happened they would head back home. it would be a waste of time to just sit there :/

Some people at work came in and told us about "Tarsheed" and they turned some lights off on our floor as well as other floors. Which is ok and something I like since we have big windows and lights are hardly needed!

Also, we are going to have a diesel generator in our house to bring back about 15-20% power back in case of a blackout (some lights, some AC, freezers and fridges...etc)

the power goes out occationally here in Wafra.
within 30 seconds the car park starts clearing!
apparently it's because a couple of years ago the power went out... everyone waited... but it never came back on for 3 days.
now it's just a great excuse to go home early. it happened once last week, and once the week before
:-) hooray for Kuwait's power plants.

hehe (hehe coz here it's kind of usual so it's fun to see how people in "normal" countries react to power failures)
You don't have any kind of backup option?? (generators, UPS ...)??
