Sleepless Pattern

I was dead tired the other day from work so as soon as I got home I had to take a nap. It turned out to be a deep two and a bit hour nap from 6:45 pm to 9:10 pm. I had something I had to do that night so I ran out to make sure I got it done, there are some plans in the works for a long road trip with some guys and I forgot the appointment.

I got home around 10:45 pm thinking I had  a lot of time to go to sleep, I got some shawarmas to eat before sleeping. I thought I would fall asleep by 1:00 am or the latest 2:00 am and I would be fine. Then I looked up at the clock it was 2:30 am, then 3:10 am, I still didn’t sleep, so I watched some anime which took 24 minutes in total and tried sleeping again, then I looked up at the clock and it was 4:35 am.

I came to the realization that there is no way I am going to fall asleep at this point. I got up and started working on the randomest of things. I backed-up my movies, organized some files, checked some online bills, I ordered a few things from Amazon.co.uk, and I watched a few shows. I knew that I had to charge into work to finish as much as possible so that I don’t run out of energy too early, and I manage to get a lot done. I was honestly surprised I was doing pretty good throughout the day and their were times I forgot that Iwas up for 36 hours but it got to me after a while and I started having that annoying headache. I managed to stay at work for about 9 hours before heading home, I got a lot done but their were times where I was a bit short with people because my fuse was short from lack of sleep, it was just that my answers were very blunt so I found that funny. Then going home and taking a 2 hour nap helped me get through the night to go to sleep early.

A guy who is just trying to enjoy life!

  1. I know what you are talking about, it happened to me many time on the last 2 months. I find a glass of warm milk does wonders in fixing my sleep patterns. Give it a try if you find yourself in the same situation again.

    P.S. Is it me or that your blog’s feeds are no longer displayed in Safat?

    That always happens to me when I take nap, even if its just one hour. Warm milk really does help, bananas help too, their basically a sleeping pill in a peel!

    LOL it is funny! I am actually on the same boat, well hmmm kinda! Not as severe as you are :-P

    I usually sleep by 10:30… 11 max, but been sleeping at 1:00-1:30am and no reason why! ARGHHHHH! So sij sij alla ye3eenik

    I am at work and so sleepy… the thing is I cant take a nap after I come back from work, which is around 4:20ish because my day will be over if I do, so I overdo it and well hmmm still! I AM ALIVE!!

    hmmm sleepless in Kuwait. General grumpyness will keep your co-workers on their toes, it’s good for them. If these sleepless nights continue you could always try taking benadryl, that’ll put you out.

  5. I have not been sleeping so well because of a jaw pain due to a wisdom tooth. The quack says it is too early to extricate the tooth and too late to make an incesion in the gum. I am forced to swallow pain killers (Errmmmm) and go without sleep because the pain killers are usless, but they do cause some acidity ! Okay, this is rant and I need to go back to the quack…..

  7. This happens to me all the time…… i was sick on monday i left work art 11 i slept at 11:30 woke up @ 2:45 slept At 3:00 woke up at 7 tried to sleep at 12 then at 1:30 then at 3:30 i got sleepy at 6:30 and thats when i normally wake up :(
