A couple of months back I had a chance to try the HP Mini-Note when it first came out and it had some really good features and excellent build quality. I tried the Vista one but I new that installing Windows XP would better then Vista. After searching around I decided to purchase one from Ebay and got one for a good deal, 15% below the usual price and barely used so instead of paying $780 for the Vista model I got it for $680.

Specs:

The first thing I did was to setup a dual boot since it came with Vista, I decided to keep it for some use but installed Windows XP Pro in another partition and it is by far a lot faster then Vista since I could make a direct comparison between them. It just feels lighter, and the battery lasts about 2 hours and 45 minutes which decent for something this small.

I love HPs, they’re my favourite, except they are considered heavy but who doesn’t need the exercise. Also, if it heats up quickly and fans forever I blame Vista. YUP still surviving with it

Frankom: I can agree it would be faster but this is serving my needs right now!
Mark: yeah, that is one of the things. The Asus is reaching the bigger sizes.
Murqab: Thank you, it does heat up but the build quality is excellent! That is also a very good choice!
DiiGMaa: Thanks! Yeah it has been a little while!
Laialy: Nope, I would say the Asus does out perform but the build quality and screen of the HP is better in my opinion!
maryam: lol! I wouldn’t!
Jacqui: Its crazy these days, they haven’t had the best consumer machines for a while!
Berserk-KW: hahaha! There are evne better ones!
