Advertisement : Richard Deacon for Thermodor

Who said advertising wasn’t suggestive in the 70s, take a look at the wording of the Ad! I didn’t even know it was an advertisement for an oven. Read the text: “…keeps everything warm until you’re ready for action.” “double the appeal of an exotic dish.”

A guy who is just trying to enjoy life!

  1. Sex sells, even in the 70’s. Of course it isn’t as vulgar as it is nowadays.

  2. Cap Curmudgeon

The ad’s a fake. The real company name is Thermadore. No way a misspelling like that ever made it into print. Hundreds of people would ALL have had to miss it.

It was probably “cooked up” for a humor magazine of the day. It could even be a recent creation.
