Review: True Blood

Its rare that a show with such freaky ideas such as this can come along still have some degree of reality in it. On another note the only place this show can air on is on HBO or Showtime because it would probably R or X rated for the sexual content and blood spilling all over the place. A hill billy town in Lousiana and Sookie Stackhouse is a waitress in the local bar with some very interesting characters, mainly vampires have come out into the public realm and are looking for rights just like humans. Something is a little different with Sookie, and a lot is going on in this town. At first I wasn’t too keen on the show but episode after episode, you just can’t stop watching and the way they present these interesting creatures is so very realistic that you can accept it. A show worth taking a look at and I can’t wait for the next season.

    Hey, nice blog!

The review of True Blood caught my attention. It is a very interesting show admittedly, especially when you compare how they treat vampires with how they treat gays or blacks (like in the opening sequence: God Hates Fangs – you just need one letter out to get the original famous line ‘God Hates Fags’.)

Makes me wonder how it would be like in Kuwait – you can’t help but see little parallels every now and then.

Besides, the theme song is just kick ass!

(Although if Lafayette is dead I am going to be very pissed off…)

We think the writers on True Blood are brilliant; there is so much commentary going on under the plot line. I can hardly wait to see Season 2; we are waiting until it is out in DVD.
