Review: Thor – Tales Of Asgard...

The young Norse god Thor embarks on a quest with his brother Loki to find and recover a legendary sword.

Direct To DVD movies from DC Comics & Marvel are pretty good, and some are amazing and this one from Marvel is pretty good, not the best they have done but still a different portrayal of the young God of Thunder. Thor is portrayed as a young God in Asgard who is sick of being cooped up in Asgard and and so sets off on an adventure to recover a powerful sword. The story is pretty good, you have to be familiar with Thor and Asgard characters to a degree and I really liked the animation it was bit more on the fun side but I liked how the story progressed. An entertaining animation if you are into Marvel & DC.

Mission Impossible 4 – Ghost Proto...

The IMF is shut down when it’s implicated in the bombing of the Kremlin, causing Ethan Hunt and his new team to go rogue to clear their organization’s name.

When they kept saying IMF I kept thinking International Monetary Fund but I kept reminding myself that this is some secret US Government Agency. We are back with Ethan Hunt, “Your mission, should you decide to accept it … This Message Will Self Destruct”. This time around the team are on their own, they are being framed for the destruction of the Kremlin and things are getting interesting. The action is nonstop stop from the get go and they go from one continent to the other trying to figure out what their enemy will do next. The action is great but the story was somewhat disconnected, it seems they wanted the action to top over thing else which it did and a lot of times things didn’t make any sense. Ethan Hunt could fight off a team of trained assassins but gets his butt handed to him by one evil genius with zero fighting capability. Still it was a lot of fun to watch and if you are looking for some action then this movie is it for you, and don’t expect too much from it.

Bond 50 – The Ultimate Collection...

Bond50

MGM & FOX have done it, I want this, I am a huge fan of James Bond and this is something that I really that they have put together. I know that I have some of these movies on DVD, and a lot of them downloaded I still want them all. The box for Bond 50, the upcoming release of the Golden Anniversary Blu-ray edition of all 22 James Bond films on Blu-ray for the first time as one complete offering. Put simply, it’s beautiful. They even delivered a trailer, which I’ve included after the jump.

Battleship – Trailer...

A fleet of ships is forced to do battle with an armada of unknown origins in order to discover and thwart their destructive goals. The second trailer for Hasbro’s naval warfare invasion flick goes for a stunning air, land and sea assault of colossal spaceships, cool cyborg soldiers and an insane arsenal of stuff that goes BOOM. I’m gonna enjoy this movie, its going to be awesome.

Wrath Of The Titans – Trailer...

I’m not entirely sure what the hell that all was – but, at the very least, Jonathan Liebsman‘s film appears to come crammed with enough fearsome mythical monsters and terrible Sam Worthington hairstyling choices to keep the masses entertained, and I know I will be entertained too.

The Expendables 2 – Teaser...

I’m not watching this for the Dialogue!

This is why I’m watching it:

  • Chuck Norris
  • Jean-Claude Van Damme
  • Sylvester Stallone
  • Bruce Willis
  • Jason Statham
  • Jet Li
  • Arnold Schwarzenegger
  • Dolph Lundgren
  • Terry Crews

Every big 80s action movie star packed into one insane movie, what more could any action junkie ask for!

Review: Shaolin...

China is plunged into strife as feuding warlords try to expand their power by warring over neighboring lands. Fuelled by his success on the battlefield, young and arrogant Hao Jie sneers at Shaolin’s masters after killing a rival warlord on their temple grounds. But the glory comes before a fall. His own family is wiped out in an unexpected turn of events and Hao is forced to take refuge with the monks. As the civil unrest spreads and the people suffer, Hao and the Shaolin masters are forced to take a fiery stand against the evil warlords. They launch a daring plan of rescue and escape.

This was one movie I was really looking forward to, any movie with Shaolin monks performing martial arts always interests me. But this case it was about a war lord who lost everything and joined the monastary he was first torturing and in that monastery Jackie Chan is an odd cook. At frirst I thought it would be a bit more comedic or exciting but still it was a very deep movie about a man who was an evil warlord and joins the monks only to fight the evil warlords. It gets interesting and you get caught up with it but I wanted more out of it.

Review: Friends With Benefits...

While trying to avoid the clichés of Hollywood romantic comedies, Dylan and Jamie soon discover however that adding the act of sex to their friendship does lead to complications.

I thought this would be one of those kinda funny movies but it turned out to be a lot better then that. I saw No Strings Attached with Ashton Kutcher and was somewhat disappointed. This time around I was really surprised but this movie was nice and hilarious. Justin Timberlake pulled off his role perfectly, better then Ashton Kutcher who is supposed to be an actor. These two movies came out at the same time and this one was by far more hilarious and one of those easy movies to watch that makes everyone laugh.
