I think this is a classic story that a lot of us are familiar with and I was happy that Tim Burton took the project and turned it into a film. From all the previews and Johnny Depps presence I knew that I wanted to see this movie. The funny part is we all know the story from our childhood and what is the story with the caterpillar with so many hookahs, they said the director was on LSDs at the time. Then there are all these kids in the theater see it for the first time, it was a mix of a crowd. The story is in bland England with a odd Alice seeing things when others dont, then she falls into the hole and it takes a different twist. The whole adventure is a lot of fun, so many funny characters, the Red Queen was hilarious, and I loved Chester the cat, always smiling and disappearing and reappearing when needed. The story line is fantastic, just to be expected from Tim Burton, but I wanted more of Johnny Depp, and Alice fit the bill perfectly. The fun never stops, there is always something going on and you know what is supposed to happen at the end but not how its supposed to happen and things just keep popping up, it was a really fun movie and I loved the Mad Hatter, he was really mad.

It’s the 21st century, but the gods of Mount Olympus and assorted monsters have walked out of the pages of high school student Percy Jackson’s Greek mythology texts and into his life. And they’re not happy: Zeus’ lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect. Even more troubling is the sudden disappearance of Percy’s mother. As Percy finds himself caught between angry and battling gods, he and his friends embark on a cross-country adventure to catch the true lightning thief, save Percy’s mom, and unravel a mystery more powerful than the gods themselves.
A new twist on Greek Mythology, Percy Jackson is thrown into a world of monsters and Gods, and he is tasked with a mission which he must accomplish or earth will be a casualty of war between Gods. Percy Jackson is a normal highschool kid with a few problems here and there, the last thing he expected to be was the son of Poseidon. The story has a creative style to it with a thin line between reality and the realm of the gods which exists around us. It was an adventure to see all these Greek characters come to life and who they would be embodied by as actors and their nature. Lots of fun as the movie progresses and he develops his powers trying to accomplish the mission while trying to protect his family and fight off other creatures and demons. A lot of fun for any fantasy movie fan, not the Harry Potter they were expecting at the Box Office but worth watching.

Iraq. Forced to play a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse in the chaos of war, an elite Army bomb squad unit must come together in a city where everyone is a potential enemy and every object could be a deadly bomb.

Its one of those movies which you really feel it, its a very raw movie, you get to feel what these guys are going through. It isn’t as smooth or nice as some movies make it, you get to feel the rough life and what some of these guys suffer mentally. It isn’t a movie meant to glorify American soldiers but meant to show what these soldiers face, having a job which calls on you to risk your life on a day to day basis takes a toll on any man. You have a team who want to be systematic to disarm these bombs with one guy who is a cowboy out for the adrenaline since he can’t feel life, and might not survive the next encounter. Surprisingly there are a lot of famous people in this movie playing side roles, I knew about this movie since 2008 so I’m surprised it got all this build up for 2009 and the 2010 Oscars, but it is well deserved.

I am a happy user of the Sonos Multiroom music system, and the best part is the consistent quality of music. I bought it when I had the larger CR100 remote which had a click wheel and wasn’t touch screen but extremely durable. Now with the CR200 Sonos has really made advancements in the remote technology and user interface is so much better then before and smoother to work with.
The best part of the new user interface is the new search functionality which makes it very easy to go through large collections of music. You can type in what your looking for and it does a smart filter of possible matches as you are typing. Sirius and other music services are fantastic to work with on this unit, better then even the desktop software. Its smooth and seamless and I get to access all my Sirius music without a hitch and changing between them is easy enough.
I have the Sonos application running on my iPod touch but the difference is that the Sonos CR200 runs on the Sonos mesh rather then the wifi, so if wifi doesn’t reach its working on the mesh network of the music units. The feel and quality of the unit is unsurpassed, very good feel with a solid build and high quality screen. This unit is worth every penny for something of this quality and experience.

Heaven has come down to destroy earth so that it may be reborn, God is not happy with how man has turned out. Only one Angel stands against God’s orders and Battles the Angels with the human beings who might have a fighting chance to change the end. With the case of Dennis Quaid and a few others, I had high expectations for the movie. Heaven isn’t all its cracked up to be and Angels are warriors of God rather then those who are kind to humans, and its the end of the world. The storyline just had too many side stories and the build up just wasn’t believable. I feel that the show Supernatural has done a better job of dealing with these different creatures then this movie. Overall it was somewhat enjoyable but still disappointing as there was so much potential.

Halo Legends is a collection of 8 stories from the most creative minds of Japan, taking the story of Halo and turning into an animated feature. 8 Separate episodes with different animation, story lines and ideas each, but there is a subtle connection and flow between them. They have taken this to another level, the different types of animation are amazing, and some better then the others. Master Chief and Spartans are on another level, showing that there are different types of Spartans, they are different then the ODSTs, they are bred to fight armies and destroy the Convenant. Each one of these episodes depicts a different angle of the Halo story, and each time you are amazed. The only reason I didn’t give it a full 5 is because it leaves you wanting more, I wish they made a whole series for Halo with at least a full storyline and arch, there is so much depth available in the story that they could use. If you are even a remote fan of Halo then you should watch this and you will love it.

Suzuran High School is an all boys school full of delinquents and gangsters. The students comprise of different turfs according to grade levels, classes and reputation. Unification of all levels in the school is a challenge, and newcomer Genji Takaya throws down the gauntlet on the first day to take down reigning school gangster Tamao Serizawa.

A lot of Japanese culture revolves around life in highschool and how people develop, Suzuran being the roughest and toughest highschool in Japan. The story revolves around the life of Genji Takaya and how he plans to rise to the top of Suzuran. There are a lot of interesting characters and clashes with the Japanese Mafia or Yakauza, and they aren’t even a match for some of these delequents in Suzuran. You quickly get pulled into the life in Suzuran amazed their is a highschool such as this in existence, I foung Genji to be an interesting character and I liked the plot twists in this movie. Its rare that a movie can get you so involved that you jump out of your seat and want to jump into the screen, the story is fantastic the action is nonstop with lots of laughs thrown into the mix. A rare movie that is really worth watching, now I just have to get my hands on Crows 2.

In Paris, a young employee in the office of the US Ambassador hooks up with an American spy looking to stop a terrorist attack in the city. Rhys Meyers plays the James Reece the secretary of the Ambassador also moonlighting as the helper of the special ops, doing odd jobs and their paper work. Until he is introduced to Wax (Travolta), a nut case with a gun who is given a mission to take care of and Reece is his partner on this machine. They go on to blow up places, shoot people, take drugs and Reece doesn’t have a clue whats going on. Travolta’s charisma with this character is fantastic, he is just as funny as he is insane, a bad guy who is doing the dirty work for the right reasons and dragging his partner along. An entertaining movie with a slightly more serious plot towards the end, but still fun.

A whole new world of hurt! He was a monster, impossible to control, too dangerous to ignore. So Earth’s mightiest heroes exiled him into outer space. But now THE INCREDIBLE HULK crash-lands on the distant planet SAKAAR, ruled by the tyrannical RED KING. Sold into slavery, the Hulk becomes the planet’s mightiest gladiator—but his new masters get more than they bargained for when he forges a bond of brotherhood with his fellow fighters: crafty insectoid Miek, ruthless rock-man Korg, ex-shadow pirest Hiroim, and the noble-born rebel Elloe. Unlike Earth, the desperate people of Sakaar believe a monster is just what they need. But will the Hulk be the one to save their world…or destroy it?

Hulk ripping monster after monster apart, whats not to like, the story is interesting that the Hulk develops intelligence unlike what we are used to seeing. I always think of the Hulk as an unstoppable raging machine that gets stronger as he gets madder, but this time around he serves a different role on a different world. The animation is pretty good and the story is entertaining, but I keep hoping for more from the new Marvel DVDs.

The Vampire’s Assistant tells the frightening tale of a boy who unknowingly breaks a 200-year-old truce between two warring factions of vampires. Pulled into a fantastic life of misunderstood sideshow freaks and grotesque creatures of the night, one teen will vanish from the safety of a boring existence and fulfill his destiny in a place drawn from nightmares. 14-year-old Darren (Chris Massoglia) was like most kids in his suburban neighborhood. He hung out with his best friend, got decent grades and usually stayed out of trouble. But when he and his buddy stumble upon a traveling freak show, things begin to change inside Darren. That’s the exact moment when a vampire named Larten Crepsley (John C. Reilly) turns him into something, well, bloodthirsty.

A movie I have been waiting a while to see, putting Vampire’s in a different kind of roles and I wasn’t even sure what the freaks were going to do. There has been a lot of vampire movies and tv lately but very few have been taking the comical aspect of it, and I think the story had the right amount of comedy and action. You get introduced to the freaks, creatures who are bound together by their odd features, then there are the vampires, and yes Salma Hayek is a freak with a beard and she still looks good with it. Wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it was, be prepared its a bit of a long story but there is a lot to tell, and the best part is that you are satisfied at the end but you know there is going to be a sequel.
