This is a young up and coming architecture firm with three young Kuwaitis. They do architecture, interior design, landscaping, designing furiniture, and a few other things. They are a dynamic group of young Kuwaitis and they have a furniture exhibition taking place this week.

I already went on Saturday September 16th, and I really recommend that you go to the exhibition, they have some cool lighting fixtures. And some really funky furniture which is all made in Kuwait which is reasonably priced. I cant recommend people enough to go to this. Its really great that these young people are doing this and supporting young Kuwaiti Entrepreneurs is a great thing. They can also custom make the furniture to your liking, an you can buy any of the furniture on display. Its really great, and its open late so you can go at your liesure.

LEGO Chaingun Extreme

I didnt think that this was possible with LEGO pieces, but who ever made it is a freaking genius! Who wouldnt want something like this. You have to watch the video for it, its a LEGO Rubberband Chaingun! Rediculously cool!!!

HD Delema!
I know some people who have gone through this, and Im the one who is always preaching about back-up and it has happened to me. One of the Hard Drives on my computer has failed! Western Digital Hard Drive Failure! Its a four year old hard drive which had all the latest videos, music, pics, and personel stuff.
The problem that I had is that the HD failed the day I was flying to the states so I couldnt even have access to my anime that I have stored up. But what is driving me nuts is that all the pictures of my Nephew are stored on this Hard Drive, and Im going to do everything possible to fix it. The guys in Hawally didnt open the HD because he said it sounds like a Head Crash and they dont have the tools to fix it, which I appreciate him telling me. So now I have to send it to drive specialists to deal with this mechanical failure. And from what I read you have to be very careful with it, and the faster you deal with it the better the chances of retrieving the data. Even though I was gone for two weeks the HD wasnt moved, so Im going to send it to DriveSavers to see if they can get things back for me since they had good customer feedback. I have to have my nephews pics back!
The funny part is that I ordered an Infrant ReadyNAS NV two weeks before, but it seems it didnt arrive soon enough. Its just my luck but Im hoping for the best, and I hope people back up most of their data. I will setup the Infrant NV and post pics about it later, and I will keep you updated about what DriveSavers say they can do. I have most of my stuff backed up, its just the items from the last 6 months that I didnt back-up, but now Im going to back up on a monthly basis so it wont happen ever again! (I hope)
Wallet?

When we are sitting around and some people have their wallets on the table we started talking about different kinds of wallets and who likes what. There are three types of male wallets! A normal wallet which could be big or normal. The kind which has place for multiple credit cards, coins, and cash. I prefer that kind with two sides for credit cards. Then there is the smaller kind which you squeeze the money in the middle with credit cards on either side. And you need to fold the money in half to squeeze it in. Then there is the third kind, the money clip which some people like. I like the money clip but the problem is your money is out for all to see which could be dangerous in the wrong situation.
Some people like it light and small so that it doesnt create a bulge in their pocket! And some people like to carry lots of cards with them that is why they carry a large wallet, and some people only carry two cards and some cash. I dont mind having a larger wallet because I need to carry my car license, my bike license, work card, a couple of credit cards, and some cash. I always tend to have it full of stuff, because you never know what you may it need. Sometimes I empty it out and see what I really need, because I have that tendency to think “just in case”. And some of other guys were getting into a heated discussion about why you should and shouldnt have a certain kind of wallet, in the end I just thought you have whatever your comfortable with.
Review: Tristan and Isolade
This is an epic movie revolving around the history of England and the relationship with the Irish. Tristan is a warrior for one of the English tribes, and Isolade is an Irish princess. This is story line is very interesting since its follows an interecate tale between the two of them. There is war between the English tribes, and war with the Irish. The battle scenes are great for an epic movie, and you get drawn in by the characters and how things play out with all the relationships being formed in the background. James Franco plays the character of Tristan peferectly, and I think it is a good movie to just sit down and watch, and its extremely entertaining to watch.

Review: SuperCross
When I saw the DVD cover I was thinking to myself I think I heard of it, but I wasnt sure. But then it was about off-road motorcycle which I wasnt into as much as on-road motorcycles. Then I thought to myself why not check it out, and I have to say that I am happy that I got this DVD. Its one those DVDs that you have low expectations for but turns out to be a damn good movie! The main two actors have this ambition of being at the top of motorcross racing. You feel the actors in this movie are into motorcycles, they want to ride and enjoy themselves. You feel it through out the movie, and they get into it. I recommend this movie for those who want to see some motorcross action and how the off-road scene is in the US. But if you dont like motorcycles you wont like it!

Crazy Birds!

I have only been at work for a couple of hours and its not that hot outside anymore and a HUGE bird just ran into my office window! Seriously! It came at angle and bounced off! I really dont get why they keep running into the window. And this bird I saw coming out of the corner of my eye. I really didnt think he was going to ram head first into the window! I felt bad for the bird, but he got back up and took off.
Back to Kuwait

I have a lot of pictures from this trip. A lot riding and many things that I did. Also I have a lot things to catch up with since I came back. The worst thing possible was probably checking my work email when I came in. 226 emails in 10 working days, and 90% of it is junk mail. The other 10 % I have to work on, and keep on replying to all the questions and inqueries!
I spent most of my first day with the family, and then I went visited some of my aunts, and grand parents and other relatives. Thats what I usually do when I go on extended travel. I still have a few people to visit and say hello to before I could meet up with friends.
Driving in Kuwait traffic this morning was annoying as hell, but I noticed that my driving was a lot more civil then when I left. I was less angry from the idiots on the road, and I was using my signals alot so then people werent letting me in. It was interesting that I was very mellow when driving. I wasnt even used to this.
Tempting Speed?
Posted in Riding on 15 Sep 2006 at 11:54 amSo Kuwait’s cameras are up and working again with a new law being enforced. I dont feel like testing the new law I have been watching myself while driving. If you are more then 18 kph above the speed limit the camera will go off, and its going off everywhere! So I have been holding myself back, but on the bike I can relax a little bit since there is no front license plate.
But now Im in the states. All the bikes I have been riding are faster then most production cars. And they have some nice roads with civil drivers. Im very tempted to enjoy myself whenever possible. This idea has been bouncing around, since speeding cameras are illegal in Northern California so you only have to watch out for police cars. And when your going a certain speed lots of things seems to become one big blur, you just have to get around it! And your sense pulsing! But the police in the US arent nice, and their bite is worse then their bark!
I have to watch myself! I dont need speeding tickets everywhere I go! Also anyone who is going to travel make sure to pay all your tickets in Kuwait, because if it is more then 100KD they wont let you travel.
To speed or not to speed.. hmm
Hamdy and Eric are the two people who have been riding like crazy with me in and around the Bay Area! The speeds we were going would have resulted in us arriving in jail, but that aside. I love California highways! And a few times we passed the Police going so fast that they couldnt catch up, but we didnt mess around too much we would take the first exit and go to a starbucks and park our bikes in the back while getting something cold to drink and relax for about 20 mins. It worked everytime!
The Return!
This has been one crazy trip! I got too many stories! And a lot of pictures that I will be posting over the next couple of weeks! Everytime I go to the Bay Area it is never enough! But thats what a vacation is about! Enjoying your time spent! I saw only a few movies! Got to watch a good amount of TV, some good restaurants! A lot of riding! A good amount of shopping for other people! And got to hang out with a lot of good friends so I couldnt be happier! Now back to work!
