*Travel News Update*

I just got this email from Lufthansa, I thought it would be useful for people.

From now on, passengers are not allowed to bring liquids or gels of any size aboard aircraft in their carry-on luggage. This includes

- beverages
- shampoo
- suntan lotion
- creams
- toothpaste
- hair gel
- other liquids of similar consistency

Passengers are still allowed to have the following items in their carry-on luggage:

- baby formula, breast milk or juice (if a baby or infant travels in their company),
- essential medicine if the name marked on the medicine / prescription matches the name on the ticket.

These regulations apply to all flights to the USA with immediate effect. The items listed above must be stored in passengers’ baggage ahead of travel and checked in. Lufthansa recommends that its passengers reduce their carry-on luggage to a minimum and arrive early at the airport. To avoid delays passengers should refrain from carrying any liquids or purchase the same in Duty Free Shops regardless of the destination.

So flight through Frankfurt dont seem to be having any delays, but check with them about flights from Frankfurt to London.

Cameras Operational

farva.jpg

Since a little while ago I have been a bit relaxed from the speeding cameras. And the other day I didnt notice that I was doing 150 Kph, and the camera went off. I was stunned! I was like “What the hell was that”. Then I realized it was the camera and so they started working again! So I was pissed that I wasnt paying attention, the funny part is that it took pictures of me and the guy in front of me. So I was going with the flow of traffic, but I can only imagine how many pictures it took the day it was switched on!

So everyone assume that the cameras are now operational! I think they took the time fix the melted parts! And I noticed a couple of times that they have been taking pictures again and again! So a lot of people have been relaxed about their driving thinking the cameras arent working. Since I got that picture taken a couple of days ago, Im wondering how the point systems will operate, and how they will be applied!
And yes I love Super Troopers!

Review: My Super ExGirlfriend

mysuperex315x280.jpg

I saw the movie over the weekend. I didnt have too high expectations, but I wanted something to make me laugh, and I really like Luke Wilson (Old School). Its got a funny bunch of characters in the movie and the character advising Luke with his female issues is probably the worst advisor on women I have ever seen. He has his predicaments at work, and this whole movie is about funny situations, and just keeps getting funnier. There is nothing deep about this movie, its just all entertiainment, but at some points its pretty damn corny. The one actress that annoys the hell out of me is the chick from the office (From Scary Movie 5). If you want to just laugh then you should probably see this movie, it will hit the spot. Its just a little bit corny at certain points and thats all you can really complain about.

Heavy Mornings

coolshower.jpg

When you have one of those mornings, and you have to wake up early to finish up some work but you feel heavey as hell! My brain says get up, but my body is just not reacting! But somehow I drag myself out of bed to take a shower and get going.

But I was wondering who else does this. I switch off the boiler back in the beginning of June.  It was too damn hot outside let alone switch on the boiler. So now if I want hot water I set the water temperature to cool and it becomes hot within seconds! Seriously better then any boiler I’ve had before. And if I want to cool water I switch it to hot, and I get the water that is inside the boiler and its pretty damn cool! It hits the spot perfectly!

But you know your tired when even after a good shower you feel dazed slightly! (I wish that was my shower! hehehe)

Work Hunger

I’ve been running around all morning, going from meeting to meeting. I usually just drink water because I want something. Everyone insists on tea when I would rather just have some cold water! I have to say that everyone is hospitable from that point of view.

Then I feel the hunger creep up on me! And a few blogs that I read through this morning have mentioned food a few times from Pizza on No3iks blog to Indian food on CyberRowdys blog. So now Im hungry as well, and I have to go to another meeting!

Icecream would hit the spot right now! I usually get hungry around 1pm, but sometimes earlier if Im running around. And today Im hungry!

And I think a Hot Dog would hit the spot! A Chilli Dog is exactly what would hit the spot!

Motorcycle Parts!

There are few parts I want to upgrade on Robo! One is changed the lever for quicker shifting, or for it be easier on my hands. Secondly I want to change the exhaust, to give a deeper tone.

Levers:

This the CRG Roll-A-Click Lever, it is an amazing improvement on regular levers, and it fits perfectly with the form of your hands. Some people use two fingers, and some people use three fingers to grab the clutch and this product makes it easier for everyone. The O.E. clutch levers usually crush your pinky fingers if you pull in too much or they are just too far away and you have to make an effort. Some of them have the ability to be adjusted, but those are very few. These levers give you the ability to adjust them. I have them on my R1 and I love them!

Website: CRG
Price: $125 (for one) , you need two (one for the clutch, and the other for the break)

Exhaust:

The second thing I want to upgrade is the exhaust on my bike! It looks cool, but I have burnt myself one too many times because its all polished steel, and gets really hot without you noticing. You think I would learn not to come near it, but no. And I do want a deeper tone to the motorcycle! Nothing screaming, just a deeper exhaust tone and something to fit the carbon fiber look! And I think the Two Brothers Slip-On exhaust will do the job!

*Travel News*

If you are traveling through Kuwait to a European destination you can not take on any carry on luggage. The only items you are allowed are:

  • Wallet with credit cards, cash, identification
  • Travel Documents
  • Medication (diabetic kit ok)
  • Baby food for babies
  • keys (non electronic)
  • glasses with no case

Everything else has to be checked in. Every gadget you have: mp3 player, camera, laptop, lip gloss, liquids(very techinical gadget), everything. And yes for those of you wondering, no make up!
They are implementing it for all airlines going to Europe and the States, and they think they are going to enforce this rule for travel within the GCC as well. So you cant carry anything. I just heard this from a friend it he Civil Aviation. Things are going to get crazy at Kuwait Airport, I dont know what is happening at other airports.

You can carry a book, and magazines with you, but I dont think anything else!

Update: No problems bringing a carry-on on GCC flights. Still banned on European flights. They are fine tuning the details! Still more to come.

Noodle House Dubai

I give this place 3 out of 5

This restaurant is located in Emirate Towers, and it conveniently located on the ground floor. Its a mix of Chinese and Thai food. The atmosphere is very nice, and they have a few tables for people to sit at, but usually you sit on benchs with other people so its pretty different. When you order there is chart and a pen for you to Mark what you want. There are lots of waitresses running around left and right, so its got a fun feeling to it! I ordered a different variety of dishs on the menu. And I got a 7-up, just really felt like it. They had a lot of juices to choose from, but I didnt feel like it. The starters came out, and we started grubbing, then the food started coming out 20 mins later. We were hungry as hell!

DSC00352.jpg

The Dishs I recommend:

  • Sweet and sour Chicken
  • Szecheun Beef
  • Singaporian Chicken and Shrimp noodles
  • Chilli Shrimp (if you like hot)

The vegetable fried rice wasnt good though! So I dont recommend that! The food overall was good, nothing great but it hit the spot. I will probably go back there if Im in Dubai, its a good place for quick bites. But we left there stuffed!

Emarites Mall

This place is huge! Seriously you could spend hours walking around there! Which we did a couple of times, like I metioned going to Virgin Megastore, and their were a lot of stops in between in the mall! And then there was the movie theater! Whats cool about the Movie Theater is the Gold class seats which are real couchs! Lazy Boys! Not like the couchs in Leyla Gallery, and I would be willing to pay because of the uncensored movies!

We stopped at sandwich place for a quick bite, they had a couple of sandwichs which were pretty good. We just wanted something light to keep us on our feet, but there was a huge food court that needed exploring which we didnt have enough time to take a look at.

Review: Nokia 6280

nokia_6280.jpg

Pros:

  • Picture across screen of contacts
  • Quick Start Up
  • Fast Performance, Little or no lag.
  • 2.0 Megapixel Camera
  • Large font for texts, numbers on screen.
  • Front, and rear camera for Video Calling (tried it once)
  • Good Bluetooth Connection
  • Very Light
  • Very Easy to Use
  • Bright Screen, and great screen
  • Shows you the number text msgs recieved and sent (I find this useful)
  • 3G/ EDGE capable
  • Good keyboard
  • Good pictures and Video
  • Price

Cons:

  • Short Battery Life (1 Day with medium usage)
  • Sliding Mechanism a bit cheaply built
  • The World Clock is very complicated
  • The Speaker isnt as loud as I expected
  • Sometimes it restarts on its own, not often. Just like once every week or two.
  • Slightly weak signal

Who its for:

I think its for people who want a very light phone, and like to take some pictures while they are moving around. The screen is very bright, and it turns smilys into images which is different from most phone. It has basic functionality, and more multimedia oriented, but Im surprised the speaker is weak. I think people who like sliding phones and want something reasonable priced which takes decent pictures then this is your choice. I would also take the Sony Ericcson K610i into consideration.
