Shows That Ended – 2013

TheOfficeSeasonFinale1

There are a lot of shows that have ended that have been around for a long time. Some of them came on the first few years I started working so it has been a constant for me to watch them, and now they have come to an end and this is what I have done the last two weeks is catch up on tv shows when I could and in this case finish the ones I knew have ended, and sometimes there are shows I just don’t finish for some reason.

30 Rocks – 7 Seasons

Liz lived happily and neurotically ever after. Jack got to sail off into the sunset and come right back. Kenneth’s immortal vessel got to run NBC well into the flying-car future. And Lutz — 51-year-old, bisexual, part-Inuit Lutz — got to pick the lunch place. One hell of a season finale.

Rules of Engagement – 7 Seasons

This is one of the few shows that I enjoyed David Spade in, and they wrapped it up a bit on the last episode because they knew the end was coming. And I love Patrick Warburton the guy is seriously a guy’s guy and every man thinks like he does but they don’t state, he just comes right out and says it. Too bad this show ended, was hoping for more.

The Office – 9 Seasons

A show that thrived on heartache, awkwardness, and cheekiness, things wrapped up very cheerily for the characters — and for the fans, who got one last Michael Scott “that’s what she said.” The Office came to an end with a hell of last episode and I loved it.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars – 5 Seasons

Lucas Ranch was sold Star Wars to Disney and a few shows got chopped off and this is one of them. Anakin and Ashoka were developed well into the series, the ending wasn’t what I was hoping for since there is always more you can get from the Star Wars Universe.

2013 TV Shows That Got Axed

1600 Penn

So many good shows went out the window, I’m seriously surprised that they cancelled so many when they were so entertaining, but a lot of good shows got renewed which I’m happy they made it. This doesn’t even include the new shows like JJ Abram’s “Believe” and the rest of the new line up.

Shows Cancelled:

  • Touch – Jack Bauer Can Go to 24
  • Whitney – 2nd Season and Done, I thought it was funny
  • 1600 Penn – This Show Was Funny, I Don’t Know Why It Was Canceled After The First Season

  • Up All Night – Didn’t Know Where It Was Going
  • Don’t Trust The Bitch In Apt23 – That Went Out Quick
  • Animal Practice – This Was Axed Early On
  • The Office - Season 9

    Shows Coming To An End:

  • 30 Rock – This Show Was Entertaining

Chicago Fire - Season 1

Review: Last Resort

LastResort1

A US sub picks up Navy SEALs and receives an order for a nuke launch. Due to the circumstances of the order, the Captain refuses to fire. After escaping an attack from another US sub, the crew and SEALs take refuge on a small island.

LastResort2

This is one of those shows that got cancelled earlier then it should have, if you haven’t seen it then you should, 13 episodes and all of them keep you on edge. The story is different, a US Navy Nuclear Sub turning against the US Government because of the plot to destroy them and cover it up. The story keeps developing and gets more intense, I’m just very happy that they at least gave it an ending, albeit not the best one but still an high note at the end to one very dramatic show. This show seriously should not have been cancelled, it had all the intricacies of a complex action/political show to play out with an interesting twist, which it did to a degree. I have been putting off watching the end of the show, but after I did I’m glad I did, its one of those shows that just leaves you on a good note and your happy you watched it. I notice that shows that paint the US Government in a bad way militarily or as if there is a government conspiracy going on, they don’t tend to play out, just like the show Jericho from 2006.

Show Are Back On January

Its about a month since all the shows went into hibernation for the month of December but things have kicked off again. Its nice to see a few funny episodes inbetween all the serious shows I have been watching. Some shows I’m going to leave to pile up a bit before catching up with them, and the rest I will enjoy like Go On, Guys With Kids, Chicago Fire, Person Of interest, The Big Bang Theory, too many good shows out there. The odd one though in this mix is The Transporter, new show but it feels weird that Jason Statham isn’t in it, like he got replaced with a crappy double, but I will give this show a chance.

  • Whitney – This season is funnier

Damn TV Cancellations! Last Resort & 666 Park Avenue

Last Resort was turning into a very interesting story, it was getting complex, but shows making the US Government don’t really survive very easily, look at Jericho, people got annoyed with the concept and it got cancelled even with a loyal fan base that follows it. And this one couldn’t be cooler, they had nuclear weapons aimed at Washington DC just to buy time so that they uncover the truth and where the corruption lay within the government that got them in these circumstances. I hope they play out the show and it has some sort of ending with the episodes left.

666 Park Avenue was on the edge of horror and a bit of magic, the story didn’t play out fully and we are only at the 7th episode but looks like ABC will play out all 13 episodes. I honestly expected this one to last, I’m annoyed that this was cancelled. It had potential to develop into a deeper story but at this point they really

TV Shows Recap

Revenge

This show turned out to be a lot more twisted then I even expected and I loved it. Trying to get Revenge for her father who were framed by this family, and things just keep taking deeper turns, you never really know whats happening. Amanda Clark/Emily is one tough cold hearted woman who will do what is needed, and show finally just goes over the top.

Touch

I’m a huge fan of Kiefer Sutherland since 24, and I still refer to him as Jack Bauer, so I was waiting to see this show about his amazing son and Kiefer Sutherland as the father. It starts out a bit slow, trying to figure out what his son is trying to say, while he is a genius who can see all the fabrics of events of cause and effect across the world, its amazing. The show gets even better as it progressed, I can’t wait for season two to start in October.

Newsroom

It’s Aaron Sorkin’s new Drama about a Newscast and the channel they are working for. To sum it up simply its a very dramatic amazing show and I love how they tie the current events that have taken place to how the show is developing. If you haven’t seen it then you should, its just that good.

Continuum

The Scifi show about a cop from the future chasing criminals into the past who want to bring down teh corporate world. Its starts off as something simple and then the true relationships between the characters of 2012 and how they relate to the people in 2077 fall together. The show just kept getting better, and if you are into Science Fiction shows then this is a must to watch.

Summer TV Shows

Since Ramadan started I know a lot of people are going nuts over all the types of shows that are airing and some of them are really good but in my case I look for something that fits me and right now the Ramathan shows are not to my taste. But its summer and there are a lot of good shows out there at the moment.

  • Newsroom – I’m loving this show, dramatic, action packed, and totally unexpected
  • Suits – This season is even better then the last
  • Eureka – Back for season 5 and in full swing
  • Continuum – Turned out to be much better then I expected, for the Sci Fi crowd, and I’m loving the future tech and the way the story is going
  • Anger Management – The Charlie Sheen comedy come back, good show
  • Falling Skies – Getting very intense this season and I love it
  • White Collar – Neal Caffery is back and this story takes a major twist you can’t wait for the next episode
  • Rookie Blue – The Canadian Cop Show, every episode is worth the wait
  • NYC 22 – I’m really enjoying this cop show, nice hip hop touch, I think Jay-Z did the Intro and Outro of this show
  • Franklin & Bash – Loving the comedy duo but they are starting to dig deeper into the other characters and its great, I hope this show keeps going
  • Melissa & Joey – Funny just as usual, on Season 2 and counting

On The Back Burner – Shows I’m Just Piling Up But Not Watching

  • Burn Notice – Didn’t watch Season 5 yet, need to catch up
  • Weeds – Season 6, really to catch up with the Botwin family
  • Breaking Bad – I still haven’t watched it
  • True Blood – Been a little while, got too dramatic over their relationships so I put it on hold
