Silicon Valley – Nerds Rejoice

The world that is Silicon Valley is put on display for everyone to see the quirks and oddities of this industry through this amazing HBO Comedy. Silicon Valley offers an abundance of highly relevant and insightful thoughts on the state of the Dotcom craze. It’s all packaged within an engaging scenario brimming with sharp humor, endearingly eccentric characters and the chance to come along for the ride while they try to make millions.

HBO managed to develop all the characters within a short span of 8 episodes that you can’t help but love these guys while they go their trials and tribulations in the most hilarious way. Each character is very different from the next with Richard being the main character and each one playing a role in the Pied Piper company. The funny part being that Hooli in the show is acting like a combination of Google/Yahoo in my opinion. It is a show which the nerdiest nerd will love as well as someone with no technical understanding what so ever, living in the bay area for over 5 years I can’t help but love this show on so many levels. If you haven’t watched it your really missing out.

Picking Up The R1

The R1 has had a few modifications done to it since I came to the states, a full Akrapovic exhaust system, power commander, 1 tooth lower from the front sprocket, and gaskets. I got on the bike as soon as San Jose Yamaha told it is ready to go.

I was so excited that I forgot to take any gear with me and they were going to close up in 30 minutes and there was no way I could make it home and back in time. So I went straight there and picked up the skull and bones Arai RX7 and a new pair of Alplinestar gloves. I loved the helmet and the gloves were a good fit. I was supposed to go home and my friend was following me in the truck, for about 30 seconds and then I took off like a demon. I forgot that I was in the states and that cops will chase motorcyclists down to fine them unlike to Kuwait. It was pure bliss riding such a powerful beast, and the exhaust tone was music to my ears, I wanted to continue riding but my Quiznos sandwich was getting cold so I headed home.

Worst Entry Level Jobs in IT

Valleywag has been scooping up dirt on the Silicon Valley for a little while now, and they seem to have a very good idea of the worst IT jobs in that area. They can be monotonous jobs with low paying wages, no where to go, and each person would be burnt out mentally before completing one year at the job, not including the bad working environments which resemble caves in the basements.

Emirates New Flights

Recently Emirates has been making some big announcements, they now have 3 very long haul flights. They are really taking over some of these long haul flights, I know someone who just tried the Brazil flight and they said it was very comfortable for 16 hours. It is a little bit more expensive then planes with stop overs. BA Flight from Kuwait to London, then London to San Paulo is cheaper then the Dubai to San Paulo for 400 KD. So sometimes it might be a little bit more expensive but still very convenient flights to have, some of these flights are booked up ahead with no availability for a few months.

  • San Paulo, Brazil
  • Los Angeles, United States (Sept 08)
  • San Francisco, United States (Oct 08)
