Hedonist Yacht

This gorgeous boat by Art of Kinetic has a hull crafted from mahogany and glass, and cruises quietly through the water at up to 40-knots, thanks to its Rolls Royce water jet propulsion.

I’m not a big boat enthusiast but I know when I see a thing of beauty in front of me, and this machine is a work of art. The creators called it The Hedonist, I don’t know how they came up with a name like that for a but like this but it is one sexy machine. Don’t let the pictures fool you, this is one very big boat and very fast for its size. I love the highquality combination of wood and glass to construct this beast, I would probably drop my jaw if I saw this in front of me in the water, I’m also assuming it probably costs a good fortune, some where 8 figure range.

Kubbar For A Swim

Got walk up just before noon, and someone on the other saying we are heading out on the boat, get up, get up. I slept late catching up on some episodes and relaxing the night before planning to sleep in a bit, and the weather forecast was to be a dusty day, but they were so wrong. I jumped in the shower and changed into my swimsuit and headed straight to Koot. Food check, Drinks Check, iPod Check, Everyone onboard check,

Around 1:30 pm we headed out of the Port heading towards Kubbar at full speed, a few things went flying as usual but it was a very comfortable ride. It was a bit windy but the waters are always calm around Kubbar Island. Its been a while since I went to Kubbar Island so I was really forward to it, the water is always nice around there, and this time we brought a few floating toys to use while in the water. Music blasting, Ceasers tiny pizzas and some drinks made for a very quick ride. We passed by a few oil and natural gas tankers on the way there, those things are huge, I mean bigger then buildings, we are tiny right next to them and this isn’t a small bought, it really is a moving island.

20-25 mins and we got to Kubbar Island, luckily there were no more then 20 boats parked around the island and everyone stretched comfortable apart. Some people on the island bbqing, some people swimming, some people snorkeling, and the best part is the amazingly cool water. Being in the sun when we stop is a bit hot so we jumped right into the water, it was amazing, the sensation was fantastic. I always jump right in, sinking into the water, enveloped by this cool and shocking feeling, its refreshing. I know I’m out of shape because I can swim for a little while and when I’m out of breath I just float, but it feels good to move.

We saw a few friends there and we were having a blast. The Kuwait Coast Guard passes by every once in a while but they don’t seem to be bothering anyone. I got in a dingy and started the engine after almost pulling my arm trying to start the damn engine, and as soon as I got it start two of us went for a stroll around the parked boats. At full throttle that dingy is slower then a turtle but still a lot of fun, and when we were two heavy guys the diny was taking in some water so we had to be careful. The water was perfect, it was so much fun to get out and a complete change.

To The Beach!

This has been an interesting weekend, after hanging out Thursday night for our usual get together we headed out straight to the shalaih at night. We all got there about the same time, 6 cars all together, already a few people there ahead of us. Most of us crash early, I spend a few hours watching anime which I almost manage to finish the whole series.

We get up next morning around 10 am, breakfast already in the kitchen, but I decided I wanted eggs and worked on that while watching Mel Gibsons’ Payback. We all decided to jump in the water, one jet ski was brought out and then a few others. Later on in the day the boat was brought out then another friend came with a boat. By noon we were more then 20 guys in the water, some flying around in the jetskis and some on the boats and some in the water. Then they started towing the Banana and all I can say is that I have a few bruises to prove that we flew off. I need to bring my life jacket with me, because it also absorbs some impacts which I could have been sparred. On another note, sun block is your friend because at this point I’m a little burnt and crispy especially after 7 hours in the sun. I’m all bruised up and feeling sore in all the wrong places but I never laughed that much in a while.

Kubbar Trip

This was a bit of a hot weekend and going to Kubbar didn’t seem like a bad idea, I wanted to jump in some water too cool off. Took about 20 minutes to get things ready on the boat, and waiting for a few people before heading off to Kubbar. It was hot as hell on the deck, and I wanted to jump right into the water but the water in the Marina is somewhat disgusting so I opted out, instead I was rubbing ice cubes on my head which melted rather quickly.

We were pumping up the kid’s toys, and a small boat just before heading off. By the time everyone got there it was already a little late but we took off to Kubbar. My nephew wasn’t sitting too still in the beginning but later on he was standing watching everything going by and those large tankers, they are really big. Sitting with my camera in my hand ready to snap away, I was like to catalog the outings to Kubbar since its always a point of interest for people.

Around 25 minutes later we arrived and it looked like a parking spot all around it. I wish our government would take an initiative and fix the island up a little bit. Not necessarily setting something up but a little depot with some maintenance to make sure that the island remains clean and maintained.

The first spot we stopped had a very strong current, I jumped right into the water which felt amazing, but within seconds I was pulled at least 3 meters away from the boat and you could feel the current while swimming, I looked like I was stationary. We moved to another spot which was much better but lots of boats were around us, I managed to snap some pictures but it was getting hot and I wanted to remain in the water. The best part is eating watermelon while swimming, there is something about the mix of the sweet taste while you’ve been tasting salt water for that whole period.

It was refreshing, and music blaring from multiple directions and all different kinds. The best part is seeing so many people enjoying themselves.

XSMG XSR48 Speedboat

I’m not much of a boat person, but I do like being in the water. This boat can be considered a speed demon on the water, the XSR48 Speedboat from XSMG, its a 48-foot boat packing a 2000 bhp two bi-turbo diesel engines, making it a very fast machine with a stablization and propulsion system meant to handle this insane amount of power. No price has been specified but I know this has to be pricy when its out. And the interior is just as mondern and nice as the exterior with all the bells and whistles of modern technology.
