Q8Car – Horrible Site!

What the hell happened to Q8Car, it started the trend of online vehicle selling and recently I tried using it and the website is horrible. One of the worst I have seen in a while, its as if no one wants to use it. When you click the search in English it takes you to a payment gateway and in the Arabic site the search doesn’t work correctly. The display is a mess, it really needs a major overhaul with a lot of features that should be added to it to notify buyers and sellers with all types of updates and simple ways to follow up.

This is the problem in Kuwait when it comes to websites they don’t continue improving and the income of this site is based on the ability of the website to work and in this case its failing miserably. Q8Car used to lead the pack in online vehicle sales in the Gulf Region and now there are others which are better and easier to use.

Water Time!

This year the summer is cooling off earlier then usual which is a good and bad thing, I love the sea but I also love to ride. But while its still hot we are getting into the water as much as possible, and the other day the water was a bit rough but still amazing to swim in and so we headed off to Al Halah, a little island that pops up at low tide and disappears at high tide. It was a lovely cool breeze as we were on our way and honestly everything was just right, and we were have a bite from the watermelon we had packed in the ice box, took us about 15 to 20 mins to get there from our starting point.

There were a good dozen boats parked by the Island, and a few that got stuck because they went into shallow waters, honestly I would have made the same mistake if my friends didn’t tell me not to go there. The water was really nice there and we saw a couple of people that we knew. While in the water honestly the best thing to drink other then water is Shani, for some reason it just tastes so damn good and refreshing in the water, and I for one love Shani. We spent a little over an hour there before the current started to get stronger around the Island because the tide was coming back and it was dragging us away from the Island. Al Halah island is known to have whirlpools so we stuck close to the island while swimming, then we decided to head back since I knew lunch was on the way and we needed some time to get the equipment out of the water and take a shower. But while on the way back I made a quick stop to get the wakeboard out and try to wakeboard back which almost killed me, I love wakeboarding but I have NO stamina, I need to build up my stamina, I do love the water so much.

Mercedes SLS Cigarette Boat

Cigarette is a high speed racing boat manufacturer who make some very mean and fast machines. It’s basically those insanely fast boats that you see in Movies, and most the time its just the stickers and not the real boat. A Cigarette starts at around $300’000 and can easily reach $2’000’000 depending on the size and options of the machine. Now they have made special edition 46 foot Cigarette as a tribute to the Mercedes SLS with all the bells and whistles that you would attribute to German engineering. With 1350 horsepower at your finger tips this is one very fast and scary machine, there are few in Kuwait and I have heard them pass by, a simple was to describe them is loud, mean, and insanely fast.

Jumping Right In

After a long 17 hour flight then one stop in Dubai, then another 1 hour and 45 minute flight to Kuwait a person would be tired. But the prospect of getting into Kuwait’s lovely blue waters got me right out of bed and ready to jump in. I wasn’t going to miss getting in the nice cool water for the day, and getting some burgers in doesn’t hurt either. Out of the whole summer that day was the smoothest possible waters I have seen in a long time, it was crisp and amazing. As soon as we got to Kubbar I just jumped right into the water which wasn’t cold or hot, it was perfect, I was expecting it to be colder but it wasn’t. Lots of people around, and we even saw one small boat topple over because it had too many people on one side, then the Coast Guard dragged it back to the bigger boat and tried flipping it back but we didn’t know what they did at the end of the day. We had our burgers and went for a fun swim before heading home, and after that swim I got a really good nights sleep, a total of 11 hours before waking up the next morning.

Hobby Center in Dubai Mall

I have been passing by Dubai Mall constantly over the past couple of trips to Dubai, and I have never seen this Hobby Center on the third floor. And I spell it “Center” because the other way is just wrong. The place is huge in comparison to a lot of Hobby Shops I have seen, MyToyCo in Kuwait is really nice but this is just something else. They have every kind of machine can imagine helicopters, trucks, buggies, sports cars, planes, speed boats, tanks, and even semi-trucks with trailers. That doesn’t even include the number of models they have laying around. You have a choice of gasoline or electric machines, there is even a plane which is bigger then me hanging on the wall and you can find items ranging from 100KD all the way to 6000KD or even more. They have a huge selection and professional staff, spare parts, and a ton of accessories.

When I was inside I had a strong urge to buy a Speed Boat and RC Truck but I decided not to with what common sense I had left at the time. The kid in me was jumping for joy, I wanted to take one of those cars right out into the mall and start sliding around and drifting. There was one Tamiya truck which looked really cool but I decided not to get it since it was big and I didn’t have anywhere to put it, and I didn’t want to carry it with me since it would be a burden. But their selection is amazing, and if you have any interest then you should seriously go there, it was amazing and really got me thinking about getting a simple RC Truck. The speed boat was pretty cool but the guy said it had to be driven in ocean water since these little machines are basically like bullets on water and would be destroyed within seconds in a pool. I visited there twice in one day and I couldn’t get enough of it!

Overmarine Mangusta 165′

A 165′ boat or a building on water is now available for sale. I’m not much of a boat person but this mamoth is ridiculous. 4/5 Guest Staterooms which are basically sweets, and lots of other guest rooms not including the crew rooms. You would need a crew of 7 and some with a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering to operate this amazing beauty. These controls of the boat are insane, you need to a pilot’s license to be able to control it, there are so many joysticks I can’t even tell where the throttle is, but those captain seats look really comfortable. The outdoor seating is amazing, you can really live for a while on a yacht such as this. So does anyone have $42,000,000 to spare to purchase this Mangusta?

Usually boats of this size that I have seen online have these tacky looks to them but this one seems to look very nice. Not the usual green and gold, but this time its a nice wood furnishing and I like the dining area. Its practically bigger then most homes, I would whats the cost of filling up the tanks of this machine.
