Samsung Galaxy S4 Cases

Samsung Galaxy S4 Flip Cover Folio

This is the Case that comes from Samsung, a simple Folio with a small cut out for the screen at the top showing some quick information. It’s a simple cover which protects the screen from being scratched but doesn’t protect the body from damage.

S4Folio2

Honestly I thought this would be a better cover, but you just replace the back with a folio attached and I was a bit disappointed by it. The folio looks good but then its just disappointing that it doesn’t really improve the use of the phone expect that it gets in the way of the phone. You have to flip the cover off every time to use the phone normally which gets annoying quickly, this cover isn’t for everyone.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Spigen SGP Slim Fit Case

The Spigen cover turned out to be the perfect fit for my use. This is a full cover around the phone with the volume and power buttons working perfectly. The back is covered with a matt black plastic which makes it not slip like the normal back, and there is an opening for the Camera, Flash, and the speaker. The shape of the frame of the cover is perfect so you can really grip the phone easily and thats what I love about it, unlike the phone’s normal curved sides this gives it a bit of a better frame which makes it easier to grip. The only draw back is that not every USB head can fit into the bottom of this case.

Go Pro Hero 3 – Go Pro & The Lens

GoProHero3Lens1

You know a company loves their product when it works so well and everyone enjoys using it. During one of my rides an excited friend was riding in front of me and started throwing stones at me from the loose gravel on the road, and coming out of those tires they felt like metal ball bearings and hurt like hell. And thanks to the “Stone Thrower” the lens on my Go Pro Hero 3 cracked and at the time I had to get a replacement for it right away, no way to fix it.

GoProHero3Lens2

Above is the case that GoPro sent to me for Free after I told them about what happened and that before they were selling a kit to change the lens, they told me that they would be selling the kit by April with two replacements. Its great of them to send me free case just because I asked about the repair kit, I wasn’t even asking for a free case, but you have to love a company that loves its customers.

GoProHero3Lens3

The Lens kit I got as you can see is simple, comes with the screw driver, screws, rubber seals, and to glass lenses for $20 which is very reasonable. I still scratched up a lens while using the GoPros for riding this season, and it only took 15 mins to change it, even when I was doing it carefully. Its great now that they sell the kit for it, and I know I haven’t reviewed the GoPro Hero 3, I just got caught up having too much fun with it. I will be getting back to that very soon. The picture above is the damaged GoPro Hero 3, and below the is the same GoPro Hero 3 with a fixed lens, check out the picture after that for the simple kit from GoPro.

Mohpie Juice Pack – Samsung SIII

MophieJuicePackSamsung

The one thing that I envy about the iPhone is the ridiculous amount of accessories made for it and one of those Accessories is the Mophie Juice Pack Case, doubles the battery and a very sleek design. And now with the new release of the iPhone 5 case, those are going to fly off the shelves this coming month and to my surprise to find that they designed one for the Galaxy SIII. A very clean design that more then doubles the phone’s battery. If you have an SIII then this case is a must, doubling the battery as well as a well designed protective case is just perfect. Honestly I wish there was one for the Nexus 4, but I don’t think they will make one since they only design for mass market, but at least they have it for the Galaxy SIII.

Specifications:

  • Rechargeable 2300mAh battery extender and protective case in one
  • More than doubles the battery life of the Samsung Galaxy SIII – Up to 270 hours of standby time. Up to an additional 6 hours of Talk Time. Up to 36 hours of additional audio playback. Up to an additional 9 hours of video playback.
  • Soft touch finish – Sleek design includes a new, soft touch, rubberized finish that mirrors the look of the Samsung Galaxy SIII
  • Quick recharging speed. Completely recharge phone in 1 1/2 hours.
  • 4 LED Light Status Indicator – Tells you how much “juice” you have left in the case for charging.

Headcase – Motorcycle Helmet Carrying Case

Headcase is a innovative type of carrying case for crash helmets, New technology and manufacturing methods have enabled us to produce a case from a new design concept that is light weight, strong, durable, and stylish.

I tend to take my helmet a lot of different places and especially when traveling to and from the track, one thing people seem to forget or don’t know is that once your helmet takes a fall off a table or a bad bump its useless because the structure has been damage, even if its a light bump. They are meant to take crashes at over 200 mph/ 300 kmh and make sure that your head doesn’t explode, so I take it very seriously to make sure that the helmet has its structure integrity intact at all times. One of the ways to do that is using a good helmet case when your traveling and in this case I think I have found the best one by far.

Pros:

  • Hard Textile Case
  • Spring Internal System Holds The Helmet In Place
  • Relatively Cheap Price
  • Fit All My Helmets: Sheoi, Arai, Scoprion, Carberg
  • Easy To Carry and Great for Traveling On Planes

Vogel RingO Mounts

I have been looking at iPad Mounts for a while now that could be mounted in different locations all over the house. I tend to use my iPad for many different applications, controlling music in the house, playing Pandora while sitting at my desk, reading lots of different items on the iPad. I found the Wallee mount but for some reason it seems to get lost in the delivery so in my search I have found the Vogel Mounts. For $70 you get the case and the Vogel Wall Mount which you can rotate the iPad in any way and its a simple case to use. Then they have other mounts such as the Car Mount and Flex Mount for use with the same case which makes it a versatile case. I like the Flex Mount because you can position it where you need it. You have to drill these mounts into the wall and then attach the case to them, but they do have an adhesive mount if you can’t drill into the wall. Overall I think these mounts are very cool especially that you can use different mounts with it, and it also works with products other then the iPad.

Review: Moleskine iPad Folio

There are two things that I love taking with me when I’m traveling or even when I’m leaving the house and thats my iPad and my Moleskine, sometimes I can’t take both or the iPad is too bulky so I just end up taking my Moleskine with me. When I first heard about the case for the iPad from Moleskine I was excited, I honestly didn’t think that Moleskine would make it. I kept refreshing the Amazon page every week to check if it was available, the email notification didn’t work for me, and as soon as I saw it was already backordered, but I placed an order for two and received it after two weeks which isn’t too bad.

The Good

  • Exceptional build quality, the Leather is very nice, just what your used to from Moleskine Notebooks
  • Snug fit for the iPad, slips right in
  • Functionally great, with the note book attached. Working on your iPad and taking notes couldn’t be easier
  • When closed it looks great and professional, nice and clean
  • The notebook is replaceable, next step is different kinds of notebook replacements from the plain to the lined
  • Very reasonably priced for a case

The Bad:

  • Left handers don’t have much luck, you have to flip the notebook
  • It gets rather heavy and its really thick, more then I expected

Verdict:

  • You will love the Moleskine iPad Folio Cover if you miss having a notebook iPad combo
  • If you want a think case then this isn’t for you
  • If you love Moleskines then this is for you

Overall I love it, and I’m going to enjoy carrying it with me when I need to take notes and have internet access.

Waterproof Case

Since we have been spending a lot of time in the water I was looking for a way to bring my DSLR Canon 40D with me because there are a lot of chances for good shots. I had something simple in mind, a case that would simply protect it from a little splash here and there. I either got bags which seemed useless or contraptions like these from Hugyfot and Ikelite which cost between $1400 and $5000, about the price of two to six cameras without the lenses. How insane is that, I wouldn’t mind getting one but that is a little too much for me, maybe for those who dive but their doesn’t seem to be a simple clean solution for what I had in mind.

Windows Home Server – Stage 2

So most of the hardware came in and K had the other half of the solution for this beast of a machine. I had all the 1 TB Drives but not all of them are going into this machine. I spent a good part of the day trying to rewire some of the items, but I did a horrible job so K redid it again.

The Hardware:

  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Dou 3.0 Ghz/4MB/1333MHz
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R
  • Ram: Kingstong Hyper-X 2 GB/PC800/
  • Graphics Card: XFX NVidia PCX 7200GS/256MB DDR2
  • Main Drive: Seagate 750 GB

After all the work that was done, it turns out that he case is too short. The Silverstone 1200 Watt PSU was too long in the case to fit with the Athena Backplane for the hot-swappable Hard Drives. At this point we went to Hawally to see what our options were for a big PC case with ample space. Other then that the Gigabyte mother board is fantastic for server needs with 8 Sata ports, 8 USB ports, it doesn’t have a graphics card so I picked up a decent graphics card. It didn’t matter much since this will be automatically connected to the system through remote access. This is turning into a monster of job, but I’m loving it and it keeps looking better.
