Insomnia Mode

This is the first time that I have drank that much coffee in one day let a lone the whole year. I barely drink any coffee at all, not a fan of it, its bitter, and I know a lot of people love it, but I don’t need it the morning but yesterday I need it to keep me going and alive for the day.

I couldn’t get any sleep on Saturday night, even trying to force myself to sleep at 4 am just for a few hours, but I was wide awake, by 6 am I got up showered and headed out. I thought I would finish as much work as possible then go back and crash but then I remember I had a few meetings in the afternoon as well as huge to-do list then dinner with some family, so sleeping went out the door.

So at around 10 am started feeling tired, a coworker ordered some kind of Latte for me which was ok but I didn’t feel a kick. I called for the tea boy, gave him tea preparation instructions and a packet of new kratom I had shipped in and asked him to make a whole dellah (pot) of the stuff and just leave it on my desk. I went through about 14 cups of that thing and I was officially wired, I was at full throttle and getting a million things done and I just kept on going until the evening. Then dinner with friends and family and I still seemed ok, as long as I didn’t sit still or wasn’t doing anything I kept on going but I knew after 6 pm I was running on fumes. Dinner was done around 11pm so went I upstairs I completely passed out which was perfect, total and utter black out, but woke up at 5:30 am which surprised me since I thought I would sleep a lot longer then that.

Breakfast @ The St.Regis

Breakfast of kings! I’m not usually one to have breakfast, but their breakfast and room service was something else. Even the breakfast at the buffet was fantastic and tasted amazing. I’m usually the type of person who looks forward to lunch but this breakfast couldn’t be resisted. Perfect scrambled eggs with the chicken sausages, then the amazing tasty fruit. I’m not much of a coffee drinker but those who drank it said it was very refreshing. The buffet is very good as well with a variety of foods to choose from, and I had a really good omelette with bell peppers and cheese. I always judge the hotel by room service, and in this case the St.Regis set a new standard.

French Coffee Incident

I was in France just recently for a few days to take care of few things. Not really wanting to spend more time then necessary there. I have to say it is quite beautiful and this time it wasn’t Paris. But not unusual to my luck in France something embarrassing tends happen to me in this country, and this time it was my fault. I’m sitting at the table with a some family and they are ordering coffee and other items, I decided to order some coffee for once in my life even though I’m not really a fan. There is one kind of coffee that I tend to like in Kuwait, and its called French Coffee, so I ask for French Coffee. Both my family and the waitress gave me the strangest look, I felt very strange and that 10 seconds felt like 10 minutes so I asked again and she said there is no such thing. I quickly order something else and my family tell me why did I order something that I never had before, I tried explaining myself but it did no good the damage was done. It turns out that French Coffee is a mixture that has been made up in Kuwait or the Gulf and thats about it. Just my luck the one time I order a coffee I remotely like it turns out its not available anywhere but in Kuwait and in all the places to ask for it I decided to ask in France.
