Silicon Valley – Nerds Rejoice

The world that is Silicon Valley is put on display for everyone to see the quirks and oddities of this industry through this amazing HBO Comedy. Silicon Valley offers an abundance of highly relevant and insightful thoughts on the state of the Dotcom craze. It’s all packaged within an engaging scenario brimming with sharp humor, endearingly eccentric characters and the chance to come along for the ride while they try to make millions.

HBO managed to develop all the characters within a short span of 8 episodes that you can’t help but love these guys while they go their trials and tribulations in the most hilarious way. Each character is very different from the next with Richard being the main character and each one playing a role in the Pied Piper company. The funny part being that Hooli in the show is acting like a combination of Google/Yahoo in my opinion. It is a show which the nerdiest nerd will love as well as someone with no technical understanding what so ever, living in the bay area for over 5 years I can’t help but love this show on so many levels. If you haven’t watched it your really missing out.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues

With the 70s behind him, San Diego’s top rated newsman, Ron Burgundy, returns to take New York’s first 24-hour news channel by storm.

If you even like Will Ferrel you will love this movie, from beginning to end I couldn’t stop laughing, I can never get enough of Will Ferrel movies but this one had the perfect cast to support him and make this one hell of a movie. Ron Burgendy shined in Anchorman 2, I thought Anchorman was hilarious that it couldn’t be funnier, but they topped it off with this one. I loved the character played by Steve Carrel, he perfected it, I could feel a bit of Michael Scott from the Office coming through with him in that suit. The best part is the insanely ridiculous battle scene at the end, just the amount of famous people who were in it was enough, you could tell that people joined in because they were enjoying themselves making this movie, if you haven’t seen it then watch it.

Review: We’re The Millers

A veteran pot dealer creates a fake family as part of his plan to move a huge shipment of weed into the U.S. from Mexico.

We’re the Millers is one of those comedies that surpasses your expectations, in my opinion the comedy of the summer. And proves again that Jennifer Aniston is still hot, at this age and she looks ridiculously hot. Jason Sudeikis is hilarious in a lot of comedies but this one he is over the top, a fack family to bring drugs across the border is a pretty unique storyline which has a lot of laughs in store. I can’t recommend it enough if you haven’t seen it, your going to love it.

Review: The Internship

Two salesmen whose careers have been torpedoed by the digital age find their way into a coveted internship at Google, where they must compete with a group of young, tech-savvy geniuses for a shot at employment.

The tech savy age of Google, we use it as a verb at this stage of our lives, it is an integral part of it and seeing the insides of Google is always fun, and from the perspective of Owen Wilson & Vince Vaughn I knew it would be hilarious. Vince Vaughn is still my favorite from Old School, that movie is comedy gold, and I was hoping for the same from this one but it wasn’t exactly the same. I find Owen Wilson slightly annoying trying to play the sensitive guy all the time. It was a fun movie and you get in a good amount of laughs with their antics but not comedy legend, something you would watch again, a good comedy if your looking for a laugh but not over the top hilarity that I was hoping for.

Review: A Good Old Fashioned Orgy

A group of 30-year-olds who have been friends since high school attempt to throw an end-of-summer orgy.

This movie is not for the faint of heart, the title gives you an idea but its also a ridiculous comedy. I think they threw all the preconceptions to the wind and went with it, some of these guys were hilarious. They are friends always throwing parties and this one is a going out party for the summer, and what ensues is fantastic. Not to ruin it for anyone but its worth it if you like these sort of raunchy comedies, and if you do then you will love it. And Tyler Labine (The Fat Guy With The MoHawk) is hilarious, he literally just takes it to another level.

Six years after their Guantanamo Bay adventure, stoner buds Harold Lee and Kumar Patel cause a holiday fracas by inadvertently burning down Harold’s father-in-law’s prize Christmas tree.

This is not your usual Christmas movie, Harold & Kumar have their very unique days and Christmas included. I enjoyed Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, but I thought Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay got a little over the top but still loved it, and they say third one is the charm and damn they are right this one is good. The best thing I can say for A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas is that it has left all pretense aside and does nothing more than be stupid, crass, rude, crude, offensive and absolutely hilarious. Things get rather raunchy with Santa Claus, some exposure to male genitalia, potential statutory rape and a drugged-out toddler. And of course plenty of weed humor that we all knew was coming.

This flick embraces balls-to-the-wall humor and the 3D element, having a lot of fun with situation and characters. There are quite a few laugh-out-loud moments and extreme situations. The 3D is thrown all over the place, taking full advantage of the gimmick but not relying on it. Honestly I think they were just making fun of 3D the way they were throwing it around, if you can watch it without it, if you have then its fine in 3D. This movie is just plain hilarious.

Paul – Trailer

Two alien aficianados who want to go on a road trip all over the US to visit areas of the alien encounters only to encounter an alien named Paul. The combination of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost is bound to be a hilarious movie, they come up with some very twisted humor. Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead were hilarious so I’m not doubting that this movie is going to be even funnier, keeping in mind those were British Flicks and this one is an American one.

Review: Hot Tub Time Machine

This is one of the comedies I have been waiting for and it completely lived up to my expectations, there were great moments and many moments of gut wrenching laughter. Four guys get into the bathtub in a broken down ski town to end up in their past, in 1986 to be exact, and they don’t what the hell to do. Its hilarious what these guys go through, John Cusak played the solid guy with a crappy life while Clark Duke (Jacob), Craig Robinson (Nick Webber), and Rob Corddry (Lou) have the more comedic parts, and their parts are hilarious, especially Nick and Lou. The story just flows and its funny, the music is fantastic, all the great music from the 80s that you enjoy is played perfectly in this movie, gets you jumping, and you will love the band scene towards the end if you haven’t seen it. And I just loved the ending of the movie, you wouldn’t want it any other way.

The Other Guys – Trailer

Detective Allen Gamble is a forensic accountant who’s more interested in paperwork than hitting the streets. Detective Terry Hoitz is a tough guy who has been stuck with Allen as his partner ever since an unfortunate run-in with Derek Jeter. Allen and Terry idolize the city’s top cops, Danson and Highsmith, but when an opportunity arises for the Other Guys to step up, things don’t quite go as planned.

Mark Walhberg, Will Ferrel, Samuel L Jackson, and Dwayne Johnson! How can this movie not be fantastic! I love Will Ferrel in these movies!
