07/13 Playlist – The Update

retroheadphones

Its summer and hot right now and everyone is stuck in their cars during traffic. This is the updated playlist from my 04/13 playlist, it complements it but it has its on feel to it as well. Luckily since I moved my iTunes library things are much easier. Now I’m back to syncing my iPods and plugging them into the car. I picked up a few iPod Classic just in case I needed a few more, since all the connections for iPods in the cars are still the 30pin not the new type and they don’t work with the iPhone 5 platform. So new iPods can’t connect to even 2014 vehicles from what I have seen. So for now I’m sticking to the classic iPods which are just huge hard drives for my music.

Review: Some From Nothing The Art Of Rap

SomethingFromNothing1

A documentary on rap music and its rise to global prominence.

SomethingFromNothing2

If you have any inclination to hip hop then you will love this movie, its about the art of hip hop & rap over the past 40 years with an inside view from Ice T. Going from the East Coast to the West Coast, you get a taste of all the talent and what they did to get where they are, and what they believe in and what is there process for their art form. Honestly it was amazing watching some of them freestyle like that, watching Q-Tip, Run DMC, Eminem, Dr Dre, Red Man, and so many other talented people in this documentary doing their thing is inspiring and a must watch for anyone who loves music.

Something From Nothing – Trailer

‘SOMETHING FROM NOTHING: The Art of Rap’ is a feature length documentary about the runaway juggernaut that is Rap music. At the wheel of this unstoppable beast is the film’s director Ice-T, who takes us on a deeply personal journey interviewing the biggest names in the game and uncovering how this music of the street has grown to dominate the world.

I have been a fan of Hip Hop & Rap since I was a kid, I didn’t even know what it was, I just knew that I liked it and I liked somethings more then others. For some reason I can relate to this music documentary and I am fan of ICE T, I just like the guy’s personality, cool and smooth.

Planet Pit & Sorry For Party Rocking

LMFAO

Its rare these days to find more than a few songs on album that you like and rarely do I buy a whole album, usually I just get that one song that I want or enjoy. In this case there are two albums that I do recommend, PIt Bull’s Planet Pit is pretty good with a lot of fun songs with some cool collaborators. LMFAO’s Sorry for Party Rocking is seriously a fantastic album, the songs are so much fun and entertaining, it was worth getting the whole album and I enjoy driving and listening to the whole album.

  • LMFAO – Sorry For Party Rocking

Beastie Boys – Fight For Your Right – Revisited

The Beastie Boys premiered the full-length 30-minute version of their short film, Fight for Your Right Revisited, in which basically every famous person ever guest stars and the Beastie Boys meet their future selves. The actor line up is fantastic, its a 30 minute video and its funny.

Playlist 12/10

With the last few days of 2010 remaining I have put together a decent playlist over the last two weeks of the songs that I love and a few interesting ones that I found. A put a few stars on songs that I really love, a good playlist is the best part of my riding day. And the best part during these periods is that people are out of town so the streets are semi-empty these days.
