iPhone 6 & Plus – Price Gouging Kuwait

Prices in Kuwait are always crazy when the iPhone gets launched and the demand for the phone in Kuwait is insane. And with insanity come insane prices, and a lot of people are willing to pay those prices because they can’t wait a few weeks or a month or two to get it at the normal prices. As usual Jackie has all the info on anything Apple:

iPhone 6  16GB 203 KWD, 64GB 234 KWD, 128GB 266 KWD – US Pricing Including Taxes
iPhone 6 Plus 16GB 234 KWD, 64 GB 266 KWD, 128GB 297 KWD – US Pricing Including Taxes

Current Pricing in Kuwait:

iPhone 6  16GB 390 KWD, 64GB 420 KWD, 128GB 460 KWD

The price increase of the phones is between 75 to 95% which is insane and the funny part is that the phones are selling out in Kuwait. It seems there are a lot of people who are willing to pay these prices.

Blackmarket Lines For The iPhone 6

I have waited in lines before, I remember waiting for the third Matrix Movie, and even the Star Wars Movies and those were fun. You set up camp, get your food ready and enjoy your night. Those were just a few hours, never had to pull an all nighter, so in this case the iPhone releases are getting extreme. Based on the video it seems a lot of these lines are filled with people who have no care for Apple, just how much they will get paid for getting the iPhone. I wonder if there was a way for Apple to stop this because it no longer has the fun spirit that it used to. This is not the case across the board for most Apple stores but there has to be a way around this issue. These are the ones that get resold at double or even sometimes triple the price, we see it on ebay and we hear about it in Kuwait, 900 KWD for a 300 KWD phone is insane.

Gazer Automated Stabilizer

The one thing about taking shots on the move is that the shots usually come out very shaky, and getting to be smooth is a difficult task. There are lots of great kits out there in the market but they all take practice and skill to get the right weights perfectly to shoot with these stabilizers, I always wondered if there was an automated stabilizer and thankfully someone else was thinking the same idea and brought it to Kickstarter.

There are different models for different uses, for those who want to shoot with a GoPro or Camera phone there is one, and those who want to use a point and shoot there is a different model and there is one for a DSLR and they look very simple to use. I already made a pledge for the SP1 & MD1 for my usual use as thats what I shoot with mostly. Check it out if this interests you as there are is only a few days left to back this project.

HitCase Pro

HitCasePro1

The battle between Apple and Android continues but there is one place where I have to agree that Apple wins out clearly, and that is the accessories market. I don’t like the iPhone but I can’t respect it, with accessories like the HitCase Pro you can literally take this phone and turn it into your personal action camera. I love this case yet there is nothing remotely similar for the HTC One or Samsung S4.

HitCasePro2

Features:

  • Amazing Wide Angle Lens
  • Waterproof Up To 10 Meters
  • Can Handle Motorcycle Vibrations No Problem
  • Ruggedized
  • A Good Amount of Tripods

HitCasePro3

The perfect accessory for the action Junkie, you don’t need to carry your Go Pro with you everywhere, you can just turn your phone into the action camera and thats what makes this case so amazing.

In Kuwait you can pick it up from iTradeQ8 they sell it through different outlets in Kuwait for 39 KD. If only it was available for Samsung or HTC.

Remembering Steve Jobs

Would you believe that it has been a year since Steve Jobs passed away, I honestly never thought about it. He was the heart and soul of Apple, and even if I didn’t like everything he did I respected him and I admire his passion towards his products. Apple only became what it is because of him and I hope that it continues down this path.

On that note it made me think of my next Apple Purchases, and that is already in my head:

  • iPod Touch 64 GB
  • iPod Nano 16 GB
  • iPad Mini (When It Comes Out)

I haven’t gotten any of them yet, but I really do want the iPod Touch, for once they really upgraded it to what it’s supposed to be.

Game Of Thrones – iPhone Cases

The first thing that pops into your mind at this moment is the theme song, you know its playing in your head. Honestly I think the iPhone is a cool phone but I love my Androids ALOT more, but the one thing that I am honestly jealous off is the amount of accessories available to the iPhone and in this case the cools cases. These Game Of Thrones iPhone cases are really cool.

Spotify On The Go

I have always had issues with iTunes even though I still think that it is vital to my music choices when I’m listening to music on the go, and for last few months iTunes has been acting up a lot. Since making more and more playlists on Spotify I have slowly shifted my listening over to Spotify, I still use iTunes but even in the car I just stream my Spotify over the car’s Bluetooth Connection. I can stream Spotify through any type of Data connection and I don’t have to use a VPN, you only have use VPN when you sign up. Surprisingly the quality of the stream is really good, and it rarely cuts which is fantastic. Of course you have to have Premium Spotify to stream to your phone, and it works for both Android & iOS.

Logitech Harmony Link

I have always wanted to control my media devices from my Android device or my iPad, and usually for my universal remote needs I use the Logitech Harmony One. This time around they have come up with the perfect little device and you don’t have to attach anything to your Android or Apple device to make it work, The Logitech Harmony Link ($100) is the solution. This sleek system consists of a small black transmitter that connects to your home network via Wi-Fi, letting you control your entire system from your Android or iOS device without the need for any dongles or other attachments. The hardware can be hidden in the cabinet and you can still control it, in my case I don’t have any TV guides to use but I do have all my different Activities that I have. If you have use any Logitech device before then this is very familiar to setup. There seems to be some negative reviews regarding its limitations but still its pretty good to get some activities going, I might get it to try it out.

Griffin Helo TC

Rule the office airspace with HELO TC, the touch-controlled RC helicopter you control with your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad.

Griffin make the most interesting and convenient accessories for Apple Products, I wasn’t expecting them to come with helicopter controlled by your IOs device. And for $50 its very cheap and fun, you get to control it with any of your devices, through touch or tilt, I would prefer tilt.
