Short Hiatus

Going on a break every once in a while is always important to do. I was pretty much offline in a lot of forms, stopped my Blackberry for about a month, barely checked twitter every 4 to 5 days. Didn’t post for about two weeks which was driving me nuts since I had a lot to say. The only real place I was putting a few things up was on Instagram and I wasn’t on that 100%.

When on vacation I wanted to enjoy my vacation, and thankfully I managed to go to a lot of events that were very fun and I got a lot of Riding in during this vacation. One speeding ticket in California over a 30 day period is impressive for me, and it wasn’t too bad.

I tried watching as many movies as possible, some were fantastic and some were disappointing but it was a lot of fun. Now I’m back and playing catch up, and my Google Reader is going to blow! lol

The Movie List

Eid weekend is upon us, and its going to be a rather long one so for this one I have a few movies piled up into the pipeline. Some are blockbusters like The Dictator, and The Hunger Games and some are not, and a few Asian movies thrown into the mix. Forbidden Planet – A Must In London

Pop Culture Central of Europe, the best place for any Geek/Nerd to visit while in London, I visit there on every trip I take to London and there is always something different to see or something that really excites me. Movie memorabilia of every kind, Comics, games and anime collectibles that you only see online, every Star Wars & Harry Potter fan would go nuts there. Still I never get tired of it, I could spend hours there, there is always something that I want to purchase but these days I am lacking space so I always choose items that fit or that make me think “MUST HAVE IT”

One section that people forget about is there HUGE comic and graphic novel collection down stairs, I picked up all of the novels by the comedian Kevin Smith, read a few pages and they are pretty funny and he is a funny guy so decided to take all his books. Then there is the Transformers section which have all the stuff dating back to the 80s up to the new things from IDW in 2012. They sold some fake weaponry which looked really cool but I didn’t want to risk taking that on a plane with me. When walking around upstairs I honestly don’t know what to pick up, I tell myself not to go overboard, I never have enough space in my bags but then I don’t reason well with myself and pick up a few things that I end up walking out with a smile, if your wondering what they are its the items in the last picture in this post.

A List Of Trailers

Man With The Iron Fists

Written, directed, and starring RZA, produced by Quentin Tarantino, and featuring Lucy “So Unfairly Hot” Liu—what’s not to love about this hyper-kinetic martial arts extravaganza set in 19th Century China? Oh, Russel Crowe, right.

Taken 2

Liam Neeson is back at it again, if you thought Taken was good then your gonna love this, he is even more of a bad ass in this one. In Istanbul, retired CIA operative Bryan Mills and his wife are taken hostage by the father of a kidnapper Mills killed while rescuing his daughter.

The Expendables 2

Mr. Church reunites the Expendables for what should be an easy paycheck, but when one of their men is murdered on the job, their quest for revenge puts them deep in enemy territory and up against an unexpected threat.

I’m not watching this movie for the storyline, I’m watching it for these guys: Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris, Terry Crews, and Randy Couture. The Best the 80s & 90s had to offer and then some, damn these guys are bad asses!

Hara Kiri – Death Of A Samurai

Any movie by Takashi Mike is bound to be gold, he always comes up with fantastic and epic movies, and this one is no different. An tale of revenge, honor and disgrace, centering on a poverty-stricken samurai who discovers the fate of his ronin son-in-law, setting in motion a tense showdown of vengeance against the house of a feudal lord.

A very interesting line up with a few foreign films thrown into the mix, Man On A Ledge was at the top of my watch list and it was worth it. I’m thinking about watching Act Of Valor even if it did get mixed reviews, but Hick seems really interesting. Total Recall – Trailer

The official trailer for Total Recall starring Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston, John Cho and Bill Nighy. As the nation states Euromerica and New Shanghai vie for supremacy, a factory worker (Farrell) begins to suspect that he’s a spy, though he is unaware which side of the fight he’s on.

From the original Total Recall with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 90s they went and remade into a film with Colin Farrel and I really like just based on the trailer, I honestly forgot that this movie was even coming and now I’m excited. It looks like they took a lot of the good elements of the old one and still building an interesting story, remember Sharon Stone was in the original, she did play a great role in it. Schwarzenegger was king of the movies in the 80s and 90s.

This Week’s Movie Line Up

So many movies so little time, this is the list of movies that I have recently downloaded, a few good blockbusters and a few interseting movies that I haven’t had a good look at yet. I want to watch Underworld Awakening since I have always been a fan of the movie series since the original Underworld, and I’m a big fan of Kate Bakinsale. Then if I feel like a ridiculous movie then The Legend of the Awesomest Maximus is at the top of this list, and a dirty comedy would be The Sitter. I wish I had the time to finish all the movies I have piled up.

  • Underworld Awakening
  • One For The Money
  • Carnage
  • Colombus Circle
  • Machine Gun Preacher
  • The Descendents
  • Sket
  • The Muppets
  • We Bought A Zoo
  • Dark Tide
  • Seeking Justice
  • The Awakening
  • The Legend of Awesomest Maximus
  • The Sitter
  • Young Adult

Star Wars Vehicle Art

This artwork just spoke to my inner nerd, there isn’t enough Star Wars work out there and I can never get enough of it. Nicholas Hyde aka Harshness has taken the vehicles we have come to love from Star Wars and turned them into works of art. I would love to see the Millenium Falcon & AT-AT Walker pieces hanging on my wall. All of these are for sale on Etsy
