Review: Fate Stay Night

Plot Summary: Shirou Emiya lost his parents in a fire when he was young and was later adopted by a sorceror by the name of Kiritsugu Emiya. Although he was full of admiration for his adopted father and yearns to become an ally of justice, Shirou has limited powers and was unable to become a strong sorceror like his father. That is until one fateful day, he was drawn into the Holy Grail War and had to summon a female “Servant” known as Saber in order to protect himself. It turns out that the Holy Grail War involves a series of battles among powerful sorcerors to fight for the possession of a relic that will grant one’s wishes, the Holy Grail. There are altogether seven “Masters” who can summon their respective “Servants” from different classes known as Saber, Archer, Rider, Berserker, Lancer, Caster and Assasin. These “Servants” have to hide their names in order not to reveal their weaknesses to the enemies. The story revolves around Shirou and his entanglement in the Holy Grail War.

Fate Stay Night was an anime that I have had on the back burner for a while. Since it had a sequel I prefered to watch the first part since everyone was talking about the sequel. Each mage summons a “Servant” or a warrior to serve him in this battle. They all fight in different styles and I liked the way the anime was going but one thing that annoyed me, it just felt that there wasn’t enough depth. Shirou the main character just didn’t pull me in, it felt a bit flat. For an interesting story it felt like too many characters introduced and killed off in a short time to give them depth. Still it was a decent anime, now I’m just going to move on to the next one.

Below Zero

The weather in London the last few days I was there it kept dropping below zero and popping back up, floating between two and three degrees, and I would still sleep with the window a bit open at night. The one thing about London is that I always feel like walking around from place to place, I loved that I had gloves, my beanie on and enough clothing to keep me warm while I’m walking. As I was walking home I spotted a Lamborghini LP-560 Roadster parked up front, and I have to say that there was something very sexy about that machine in this weather, and it looked nice and clean, I knew the guy was just visiting because I didn’t see him earlier in the day. I loved the exhaust note when he started it up, I could hear it from the living room, and off he went in the lovely cold weather.

Athens By Night

This is my first time visiting Athens so I take the opportunity to snap pictures even though it is late at night. I got in with a cab driver, asked him where I can take some nice night pictures, and he asked how long do I need, and I said as long as he needs. He took me for a very nice tour around the city, he was a very nice man, he asked where I was from and said that he knew a lot of Saudis and said that Kuwaitis used to come a lot to Greece before the Gulf War but not so much anymore. What surprised me is the friendliness and kindness of the Greeks, a majority of them speak English and those who don’t were very helpful to find someone that does.

It was a nice feeling walking around the city, and driving around at night seeing all these interesting spots. We went to Glefadah which is a nice beach area to snap pictures of the port area at night, then he took me to the parliment building, when I got back to my hotel I can see the acropolis and snapped pictures of it at night. It was 1 am on a Monday night, and I could still here the hotel bar two floors above going, I learned that Greeks do enjoy their nights out, every night.

Night Ride @ 38C

It has been too long since I have taken a ride out at any point in time, the heat came with those sand storms and very strange weather. It made riding nearly impossible with zero visibility, and lucky for me I came back to the perfect weather, or the beginning of it at least. I can’t believe how nice the weather is early in the morning or after sunset. I came back from work a little annoyed with a few things on my plate and I decided to get a shave and take a ride to unwind.

Before taking my impromptu trip I called up TriStar and asked them to service all the machines, after I took off they came a few days later took the KTM RC8, Ducati 1098s, and BMW K1200R for a full service and check up. They changed the from discs and pads on the RC8 under warranty, they changed the rear tire of the K1200R, changed the oil and filters of all the machines, they changed the battery of the RC8 and 1098s, the chains were adjusted, cleaned and oiled. All three machines were run on the dyno to test it out. Got them all ready for riding season.

I changed from my dishdasha to my riding gear, and damn that felt really good, I’m just a little over weight and that requires adjustment. I had my playlist ready with music topped up on my iPod Nano. And I took off to Salmiya and later on drove down the GulfRoad to Miseela and then back home. It was just the perfect ride, I was in sync with my machine but I have to get my skills back up to par, I felt something was a little off with me and not the Ducati. I need to regain my sense of balance with this machine, I was one very happy rider, I caught myself a few times smiling while riding and listening to the music. The cool breeze was perfect even with the engine boiling my leg a little bit, these Italians knew what they were doing when they built this machine, so much passion, I felt like it was an animal that is happy to be out of its cage. I’m really happy that the weather is cooling down earlier this year, I will be doing some late night or early morning riding for the next couple of weeks, damn I missed riding.

Nocturnal Gundam in Tokyo

Now they have taken it to another level, the RX-78 looks fantastic. I have never wanted to see an attraction so badly such as this. The colors of this light makes it look like its about to move. I also appreciate good photography shots, and these are amazing shots taken of the Gundam, it looks like it has been called into action and about to take off. are we at an age when robots like these will come into use?

Avenues after Sundown

We are currently working on a project, and some space was made for this project. K needed a work bench/desk for the testing area and setup. So we decided to go to IKEA but none of us were free to go before 7:45 pm, since we didn’t get back from work until late.

We went to the avenues, and the parking lot of was packed at IKEA, we found some parking towards the end of the lot. We went to Araan to pick up some coffee, and I felt like a Krispy Kream doughnut which I haven’t had in months. To say that we look disheveled was an understatement, but some how we still looked normal or less freaky then half the people walking inside the avenues. There were three boys wearing bandanas and their boxers on the outisde thinking they are the coolest thing in the world. I wish I had my camera with me, I was so tired I forgot it at home. Some women had so much make up that their eyelashes somehow looked part of their eyebrows. When you start seeing these freaky sights, it sends a chill down your spine. So we decided to hurry up the pace, we flew through IKEA which felt more like an obstacle course due to people walking slow, we picked up what we wanted and headed towards the safety of our homes.
