Le Monstre by D3 – Cadillac CTS-V’s Distant Scary Cousin

The thing that I love about Chevy/Cadillac’s high powered vehicles is that they make machines that make you laugh, that is the thing about American cars, you laugh like a kid when you are behind the wheel. The Cadillac CTS-V is one beast and they just took it to another level, tuning it to 1000 bhp and adding components to turn it into a racing machine and I for one would to try this machine out. And the Matte Black does look pretty damn good on it, I’m assuming it took a lot of parts to change it into this beast.

Toyota FT-86II

The Toyota AE86 is known to many people as one of the most aggressive sports car back in the day, it would be modified in all forms to race and drift around the moutains in Japan. I think this is one of the cars that help originate drifting back in the 80s. Now Toyota came up with the FT-86 Concept and a lot of people got excited, a decently priced toyota sports car which looks highly modifiable (If thats even a word). When the pictures first came out I thought they were bringing back the Toyota Supra but then they mentioned the name and their target market. Toyota has been working on their aggressive rear-wheel-drive sports concept for several years now, but these studio pics look like the real deal. Its supposed to go intro production in 2012 but with the situation in Japan I’m not sure if everything is on track. I really like the final pics of this car.

Ariel Atom 3 – Pure

There are a few track cars or race cars out there available, all ranging in price from $10’000 up to $100’000. The Ariel Atom is one of my track cars out there, its still driveable on the road and great on the track. There are those who have said that its not tuneable for the track but I love the look of the car and its pack a hell of a punch. 245 bhp with the Honda engine mated to a Honda transmission and with a supercharger option can be bumped to 300 bhp. The Ariel Atom 3 has a lot of options from track brakes, to different suspensions, aesthetics options, and aerodynamics. The base price starts at $49,000 and goes all the way up to $90,000 depending on the options that you choose. It takes off like a rocket and gets to 62 mph in less then 3 seconds, and its able to stop from 100 to 0 in 11 seconds. This is a very itense machine with lots of fun on the road, I wouldn’t mind taking one for a drive.

Ferrari 599 GTO – Faster Then An Enzo

There has been talk about this car, spy shots over the net, list of options and tid bits of information. Now its out the official 599 GTO from Ferrari, an Italian race pedigree. They have the 599 GTB Fiorano, then came the track only 599XX, now the barely street legal race car designated the Gran Turismo Omologato or 599 GTO and it brings a lot to the plate.

They managed to shave 195 Kilos from the car bring the curb weight to 1495 KG making leaner and meaner then its original. They bumped the engine output from 612 bhp to 661, a torque bump of 9lb-ft bring it to 457. The GTO modifications aren’t just mechanical, with a rework of the aerodynamics their is a new front splitter, side sills, diffuser, rear spoiler, vented hood as the ten spoke 20-inch rims with F1-derived wheel donuts. All this put together helps this machine sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 3.35 second and top speed of 208 mph. Beating the Enzo on the Fiorano test track by 1 minute and 24 seconds, thats scary. Only 599 of these machines will be made, they will be selling at around $460K, lets see who will be lucky enough to get one. Check out the new configurator by Ferrari.

9ff – GT9-R – Redefines Scary

9ff are not just a company that modifies Porsches, but a company that produces some very scary race cars and the 9ff GT9R is case in point. the GT9R is loosely based on the Porsche 911, almost every component of this machine is built from scratch. Producing 1120 horsepower and a claimed 414 km/h (257 mph) top speed, it knocks the SSC Ultimate Aero TT off its top perch and takes the crown for the fastest production car. Based on their announced numbers the GT9R it’ll hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds, 200 km/h (124 mph) in 7.4 and 300 (186 mph) in 14.9, I can’t wait for someone to test this machine out to give us the real numbers.

Only 20 pieces of this machine will be made a year, price hasn’t been announced but its not going to be any less then half a million to have one parked in your garage. There is the lesser version of it available if you would like one when the quota is met, but I think the GT9 is no vehicle to be mocked or it would bite your head off.
