Riding Around The Corner

Ramadan has been amazing this year, I just love Ramadan in Kuwait even though its hot you get to see a lot of family and friends, it feels like your working a day shift and a night shift but your getting a lot done. I get excited about water activities and riding every weekend, its only the weather that decides what I do and I know its still too hot to ride but once or twice over the last few weeks I went out for a quick joy ride, even though its still pretty hot at night.

The funny part is that the rest of the world rides when its too hot for us to ride and I honestly get jealous that they can ride and I can’t. I have been looking at parts nonstop for the last few months to upgrade and customize my Diavel to my tastes but as usual very few parts are available for this lovely beast, and I have to wait until the Italians get back from the holiday this august to see any parts at the beginning of September. I know I’m still a few months off from Riding but it doesn’t stop me from getting excited, I see the bikes every other day in the garage I can’t help but get pulled to them and take a look at them. I have modified a few things and luckily the first thing I changed was the exhaust and it sounds very beefy right now. I have ridden in a few different countries over the years but I would love to take my Ducati out of town with me, it would probably Pyro because I just love that bike so much. I can’t wait until its riding season but for now I’m going to enjoy the water as much as possible.

Review: Super

After his wife falls under the influence of a drug dealer, an everyday guy transforms himself into Crimson Bolt, a superhero with the best intentions, though he lacks for heroic skills.

Dwight K. Schrute at his best, the super hero that he is supposed to be, for any fan of The Office you will enjoy the movie. This movie turned out to show the crazy dumb side of Dwight Schrute, it had a mix of Kick Ass and The Office, it gets crazy pretty quickly and you have to deal with a lot of complex situations. If you liked Kick Ass then you will enjoy this Dark Comedy, it is a perfect mix of drama, comedy, tragedy, thriller, parody and character-based gore-fest.

New Shows – Summer 2011

Suits

  • Falling Skies – A show by Steven Spielberg, humans recovering from an Alien Invasion and fighting back, very well done and very cool.
  • Suits – A college drop out accidentally joins a top end law firm with their best closer as his partner, two of them are a crazy team but would be in trouble if they found out he has no degrees,

2011 Geek Summer

GreenLanternMovie

From the first of May until the end of July it will be the best movie blockbuster summer for Geeks. Every year we wait for one or two movies in the summer, like waiting for Iron Man 2, or The Dark Knight, or Tranformers, but 2011 is going to be an insane summer. Every year they usually spread out these kinds of movies but in 2011 they are all together in one shot, its been mentioned that this might not be the best thing for studios since not everyone will be able to see them in the theaters and might be an opportunity cost, so you have to pick and choose your movies, when in this case every weekend will have a great movie which has been in development for a while, so all of them seem pretty good, at least I’m really looking forward to it.

  • Thor (May 6)
  • Priest (May 13)
  • Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (May 20)
  • Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom (May 27)
  • X-Men: First Class (June 3)
  • Super 8 (June 10)
  • Green Lantern (June 17)
  • Rise of the Apes (June 24)
  • Cars 2 (June 24)
  • Transformers: Dark of the Moon (July 1)
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II (July 15)
  • Captain America: The First Avenger (July 22)
  • Cowboys and Aliens (July 29)

A Drop In The Water

I love getting into the water, I love swimming, and just floating in the water. This past week the weather has just been unpredictable as to what exactly is going to happen but we headed to the shalaih and decided we are swimming this Friday.

It was a little bit of wind but not nearly enough to discourage us and we have gotten in the water in worse conditions. After about an hour of laying about watching tv we got into the water, and we were literally the only people in the water. No one else can be seen except for half a dozen jetskies in a 10 kilometer stretch. The water was a bit cold but not enough so that no one gets into the water, but it seems the weather is changing and the water is a bit cooler. Overall I think its been a fantastic summer and I’m hoping for more time in the water and less sandstorms in the near future but riding season is around the corner at this point.

Review: Machette

It’s one of those movies that are just over the top, and Machette is this unstopable man fighting for justice and basically killing the big bad guys and anyone who stands in his way. This movie surprisingly has a lot of big stars in its line up and they just fit in, and at some points its just so over the top that you can’t stop laughing. I honestly loved the action, its presented perfectly as a gritty rough movie, an amazing piece of work from Robert Rodriguez.

The list of people in this movie is just ridiculous, its probably the first time I have seen Steven Segal in a normal movie. Then there are Michelle Rodriguez and Jessica Alba who are trying to fight the bad guys and get involved with Machette, who seems to have a way with all the ladies period. Cheech Marin as the ass kicking padre who is incidentally the brother of Machette and helps him out in a pinch. Don Johnson and Robert De Niro as the crazy Texans. All out insanity breaks out and you just love every moment, and then there is Lindsay Lohan which I try to forget! A must see movie!
