Justice League War – Trailer

The world’s finest heroes found the Justice League in order to stop an alien invasion of Earth.

Another Movie from DC Comics which looks dark and fun, this time around Apokolips attacks earth and this Justice League is based on the new “52” comics which I am loving. Lets see how this movie will turn out, its going to be released in early 2014, I hope DC Comics keeps this animated movies coming I am enjoying them very much.

Batman & Superman – Ben Afleck.. Really?

Batman&Superman

Batman under Christoper Nolan & Christian Bale became an epic story of Batman, the true Dark Knight. It reached beyond the comic fans and across the globe, there is no one that didn’t love Batman over the past 8 years. Zach Snyder’s Superman was also a deep Superman movie, and I really like how he was portrayed in it by Henry Cavill. So the up coming mash up of Batman & Superman was extremely exciting news, and I was hoping Christian Bale would reprise his role as Batman, as I can’t picture anyone else doing it.

Now the shocking news that Ben Afleck is going to be the next Batman is nothing short of revolting, I got a gag reflex when I heard it, on the verge of throwing up from my disgust of him. He is an actor of his own right but NOT a superhero, doesn’t anyone remember Daredevil? I love comic movies and this I tried to love but to no avail, I was just utterly disappointed by it. I just really hope most of us comic fans are proved wrong and Ben Afleck does right by The Dark Knight.

Review: Superman Unbound

SU1

Superman and Supergirl take on the cybernetic Brainiac, who boasts that he possesses “the knowledge and strength of 10,000 worlds.”

SU2

I do love these straight to DVD Movies from DC Comics, they are usually pretty good and they come out every few months so there is always something to look forward to. In Superman Unbound they took a different style to the anime, the story makes an assumption that you already know about Superman, Supergirl (Kara), and Lois Lane. The usual characters from the Superman Comics, and they jump right into the story. The animation style varies in different sequences, just enough cgi thrown in, and when it came to the fight scenes they did a fantastic job, its not your usual super powered fight scene, but a more emmersive type of drawing that pulls you in which I found to be cool. The story leads up to Braniac being the villain from beyond their Universe and Superman running into him for the first time. Story is decent, nothing too crazy, surprisingly Superman was a bit full of himself as a character and I wasn’t too keen on Lois Lane. Its a fun watch but DC Comics has done better before.

Superman vs. The Elite

Superman’s effectiveness as a super hero comes into question when a new group of super powerful crusaders, known as “The Elite” appear on the scene, led by British public identity hero Manchester Black. As super heroes, the Elite know no bounds, and are more than willing to kill, even on a massive scale, to stop villainy—putting them on a collision course with the ever-ethical and decidedly non-lethal Man of Steel.

This movie just didn’t click with me the wait I want it to. Seems like it had some good and interesting ideas in it but overall it does a bad job at handling and developing them in the story. But if you are into Superman or just superhero stories in general, this animated movie is still well worth checking out. It still has plenty of superhero action in it, as well as some other familiar genre aspects. But the villans in it just felt weak, there was no major development for them, but I liked the action towards the end, made it more exciting to see Superman in this way. The main idea is questioning where the world needs a hero with morals like Superman or one that would do whatever needs to be done and more like The Elites. If you like animated superhero movies, then this is worth watching.

Review: All-Star Superman

While saving the crew of the first manned mission to the sun, Superman is poisoned by solar radiation. Dying, he decides to fulfill his lifelong dreams, while still saving the Earth from various threats. But when Lex Luthor reveals his latest plot to control the world, Superman must use his remaining strength to stop him.

All Star Superman is something a little different from the Superman storyline, and the animation is different from what I’m used to from DC Comics, I was hoping for a good story and a lot of action. The story just wasn’t consistent, it kept building up and jumping too far and then changing, it didn’t keep my interest even though I wanted to like. Towards the end a few things came together and I liked how the story played out but because it was so broken up you just don’t get any depth with the characters, feels like you are in some sort of ground hogs day and it plays back in a different way. By the end I liked the animation and gave it a nice richness to the characters but since the story line felt a bit disrupted it just didn’t pull me.

Review: Justice League – Doom

Vandal Savage steals confidential files Batman has compiled on the members of the Justice League, and learns all their weaknesses.

Short and Sweet, another DC Movie with the Justice League facing another formidable enemy. This time around the Justice League face several foes separating them and neutralizing them. The animation is decent and story gets interesting, I wanted it to get deeper to give it that more depth but it was entertaining and for a short movie it was entertaining, if you are fan of DC Comics or animation that you will enjoy this movie.

Comic Panels Printed By BayPhoto

There is no denying that I am addicted to comics of all kinds, and one the things I tend to do is while surfing through all these websites I would save high quality images. I always wondered how I could print them as metal panels, since I already had a few metal panels that I picked up from Chicago a year ago. After finding BayPhoto’s website

I went with three panels types of comic panels to print, Transformers, Comics, and Manga. I wanted to do the metal prints and find something reasonable and after going around Bay Photo had the best options. BayPhoto seems to be the place that photographers make their prints and they are professionals, my prints were packaged by Mike, thats what it said on a card inside the packaging, I liked the personal touch.

All the prints came out perfectly, I made some normal size print outs and some custom size print outs which I put over my computer screens, the biggest one being the Transformers G.I.Joe which look awesome. For $320 these prints were very reasonable and especially for the quality, and only one was a bit fuzzy but that was because of the quality of the upload and other ones were amazing. The Snake Eyes vs. Storm Shadow came out amazing, so much so that I wanted it in front of me when I was working on my computer.

The List Of Panels:

  • Transformers & G.I.Joe
  • Transformer Bad Asses
  • Optimus Prime Version 1
  • Optimus Prime Version 2
  • Batman & Superman Apocalypse
  • Superman
  • G.I.Joe – Snake Eyes vs. Storm Shadow
  • Mazinger
  • Justice League

Young Justice

Don’t call them sidekicks! Young Justice follows the adventures of the teenaged superheroes Aqualad, Robin, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian, and Artemis , who have finally gained independence from their leaders and the privilege to start their own covert operations team with the Justice League.

Warner Brothers and DC Comics brought us another amazing animated show, for any fan of Justice League and Justice Leauge Unlimited you must watch this. The animation is similar to the previous shows and I really like the style of it. The intro to the show is bad ass, I really like the characters in the show and I like where it is going. There is unknown enemy working in the background, something is going on, I really want to see more episodes and luckily its only at the 9th episode and going.

Review: Enemies & Allies – Kevin J. Anderson

As America and the Soviet Union race to build their nuclear stockpiles, two extraordinary heroes must form an uneasy alliance. These studies in opposites shadow and light must overcome their distrust of each other to battle evil and injustice.

Sputnik silently circles in the skies above the fabled cities of the United States as danger lurks in the Earth’s darkest corners.

In Gotham, the shadowy vigilante known as the Batman haunts Gotham’s streets . . . and the police are just as afraid of this Dark Knight as the city’s criminals are.

In Metropolis, the notorious Lex Luthor is leveraging international tensions to build LuthorCorp into a military-industrial empire, competing against his business rival Wayne Industries, which is run by Gotham’s enigmatic millionaire, Bruce Wayne. Luthor’s activities have raised the interest of Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane, who is beginning to realize that Luthor may stop at nothing to achieve success.

At the same time, Clark Kent and Jimmy Olsen are investigating the rumored crash of a flying saucer. Clark is desperate to know if there may be other lost interplanetary visitors on Earth secretly living among them visitors like himself.

When Batman’s and Superman’s paths cross, their lives change, and history will never be the same.

This is one of the books that I was saving, anything to do with Batman & Superman is something to look forward to. I remember not reading some comics to I can watch the movie then go back to the comics so the movie wouldn’t be ruined if I knew too much. This starts off with Batman and Superman in the 1950s/60s with tension high between the United States & USSR, and it has a warm feeling to it. Technology and life are a different level but you have a familiarity with the characters, they mention the characters as if you are just getting to know them. It picks up pace and I do enjoy the contrast and back & forth between Batman and Superman but I kept reading with higher expectations, with something bigger. With so many stories to Batman and Superman you always keep expecting to learn something you about them and to overcome impossible odds but in this case the story was fun but didn’t give me what I wanted at the end, its an enjoyable book but it could have been better.

DC Universe: Fractured Future

DC Universe Online is a game I am very much looking forward to and this trailer gives an interesting story. If I didn’t know it was a game I would think that its a movie from this trailer. I was shocked to see who these characters were as the trailer played out. Its going to be an awesome video game, I want to play out a lot of these characters. I bought the special edition version for the PS3 which comes with a cool Batman Model.
