Water Jet Fun

This is one of the funnest videos yet from DevinSuperTramp, and these guys in the Water Jets move like dolphins, smooth in and out of the water and I have seen a few of these in Bnaider and Kubbar. Takes extreme control to even get up let alone do all these sorts of tricks. I know I’m loving winter, but this video made me miss summer, can’t wait to get out on the water.

Water Damaged – Nexus 4

WNexus1

Liquids are one of the things that I keep far away from my desk, but every once in a while I have a bottle of water there, and even that I am very conscious of it. There have been a few incidents but luckily nothing has been damaged. Until the other day I was working late into the night on emails and posts, and I had a bottle of water next to my Nexus 4 and Keyboard. I turned around and I knocked the bottle over, I could even see it in slow motion, I was saying “Nooooooo”. I tried to grab it but my mind was operating on fumes so that didn’t work. I quickly lifted the bottle removed all electronics from the vicinity.

I got some water on the screen of the Nexus 4 and the keyboard, everything else was fine. I soaked up the keyboard quickly and the Nexus 4, the keyboard didn’t have any issues. When I used the Nexus 4 it was fine but the speaker by the ear pieces sounded like a radio from the 1950s. I tried drying it with a kleenex and forcing it in but didn’t work, still sound crappy 15 mins later. There was only one solution that I knew off, I got a small glass flower pout and filled it with rice and stuck the phone in it all night long. Next day I used the phone crossing my fingers, and it was perfectly fine, no issues. I don’t know why but I always remember that rice can soak up water and humidity from electronics, they tell you to take the battery out but in my case I left it in there and charge it over night too, worked perfect the next morning.

Logitech K310 Washable Keyboard

I am huge fan of Logitech products, they always make the most useful computer accessories, and it seems this is no different. I’m surprised nobody thought of a washable keyboard before, and this one isn’t ugly. For desktops I prefer a full keyboard like this, and I usually prefer the highend line of Logitech keyboards, their mid to low end have a crappy feel on the board and this new one looks worth a try. I like the white keys on black background, and for $30 its reasonably priced.

Droplet Art Photography

INCREDIBLE water droplet art photography of Heinz Maier is amazing, I wouldn’t know where to start with something like this. The work to get the lighting, colors, water, camera, and type of lens to get the perfect picture takes a lot of time to figure out and even longer time to tweak to get it just right. For now I am just admiring his work, and more can be found at his flickr account below for the full spectrum of his droplet art photography.

Mirage – The Full Experience

30 Go Pro Cameras put this amazing video together of some extremely talented surfers. The waters just look amazing, and the videography itself is amazing, they really did a fantastic job of taking full advantage of all the cameras.

Rip Curl has again created a technological world-first by capturing full-tilt surfing action using a “30 camera Array” — a line of cameras firing consistently as surfers ride towards and past it. The results are unique “frozen moments of time” – that can be viewed in a combination of angles for a true in the round perspective.
