The Days Are Still Cool

These days its getting a bit warmer but still there is a lot of riding left, I’m trying to get in as much as I can at this point. This past weekend we rode about 350 Km around town, from Bida’a to Doha to Subhan and back to Bida’a for something to drink. It was an intense ride since we wanted to ride as much as possible during that amazingly cool morning, and the dust lifted from the night before.

This time around we were a bit more organized with the riding since we had plan, and a few different routes which made things interesting. The 1st ring road has turned into one amazing corner, at least the new part is, its the perfect curve, I hope they don’t install a camera there any time soon. Recently I have modified both the Diavel and 1098 so that my license plate is somewhat hidden.

After a nice long ride we had a nice cool drink, we thirsty as hell and I didn’t let anyone stop for a drink the whole day since I wanted to enjoy the ride as much as we could. There are a few surprises in the pictures below since we had a lovely machine join us in the previous ride I had to put the pictures up.

Aramex & More Shipping Insanity

Aramex

The last month of insane snow and cold in Europe and the US has shutdown airports and turned shipping into a logistical nightmare. I hear people complaining about not getting their items on time or not getting them at all. In my case its a mix of both, everyone from UPS to FedEX and the smaller shipping companies are facing issues in this weather and losing packages in the process. In my case one screen mount has been lost since it was delivered about two weeks ago to Aramex, I gave them the tracking number and hopefully it will reference something inside their system and they find it. Its been an annoying process but Christmas and New Years coming up means that there a lot less employees working meaning that they won’t find what they are looking for right away. I’m just hoping they find it soon as I would really like to mount my computer screens to the wall.

Currently Missing:

  • Screen Mount
  • Streetfighter Animation Book

I’m just hoping I get my things soon.

Picking Materials for Dishdashas

Now this is an art form which I have not even come close to perfecting. The summer dishdasha is a very simple and easy matter to choose, I pick the Japanese nonwrinkle type and it works great for months of nonstop use. But the winter dishadahsa is a complex matter with multiple materials and different uses. So that usually takes me a lot of time to pick and choose and get second opinions, honestly I’m the lazy one and my brother does most of the work. One other factor that has taken longer this year is that we even haven’t had a winter this year, its back and forth, but in my case I switched to winter mode and I won’t go back to summer until it gets really hot. There were a few cold days in the morning on the way to work so I decided then to make the switch.

There are some days where its a little bit warm but when it gets a bit chilly I am very happy that I am in winter gear. I honestly do love wearing a winter dishdasha even though its a hassle to choose what to wear in comparison to summer dishdashas, with summer dishdashas you just open your closet and pull one out, no choice in the matter, a very simple process. But in winter you have to choose, black, grey, brown or any other combination and then there are the shirts. Its a tedious process and time consuming, but I honestly love winter dishdashas, they can look good and feel regal while keeping you warm.

Crispy Cold

LondonRain

London is cold as usual, it ranges between 4 to 11 degrees depending the time of day and some times it rains. I love walking around in this weather. I think I’m averaging between 9 to 11 Kms a day of walking, some days I walk for hours and some days I walk because I can’t find a taxi to go home. A lot of people are going Christmas shopping crazy so you can’t find empty cabs, and I think its a little too early for Christmas shopping but its just amazing to walk. I carry my umbrella with me just in case it starts pouring but its still fun to walk around. After plugging in the local microsim into my iPad I carry it with me while walking around and I usually use my Android phone to look up directions, info, or movie times but when ever I make a stop I have my iPad just in case.

Breakfast & A Ride

Friday morning I look forward to the most, whenever the weather is nice I want to go out these days. It rained the day before, and the next morning they said it was supposed to rain but I looked out the window as soon as I woke up and it was looking good. I called up Monichum to wake him up and meet up, short time to get ready then fill up with gas, and some how we met up on Fahaheel Express Way just entering the Gulf Road starting from Bida’a.

With some sign language and almost wacking Monichum’s helmet at the stop light we decided to have breakfast at Prime & Toast, and as usual the place was packed. A few of our friends caught up with us for breakfast, and more people started showing up. We then decided to head home, with the new playlist I got a song I was enjoying which I took off faster then usual which resulted a very high wheelie and freaked me out, but still a fun thrill. I’m loving this weather.
