Review: State of Play

It was one of those movies I wasn’t expecting to be this good. Russel Crowe plays the role of a reporter working for the Washington Globe and Ben Afleck is a big shot politician who just lost his aide who is also his mistress. Things go from there, and as he is working on one story it connects to another also pointing to Ben, who is also Crowe’s friend and he is trying to unravel this whole conspiracy. Its a fast paced movie, and I do like how Crowe plays his role in this movie, and you are always trying to guess whats next and never left without something happening and connecting the dots.

  1. I like the movie. the good thing is that it is a crime story and I really miss these kinds of movies. On the other hand, what is bad is that police in the movie are just like a decor or accessories. They didn’t have any role in the movie except complaining about the reporter actions.

  2. I remember watching this movie. It was indeed a great movie – although not a big fan of crowe.
