Enjoy your weekend people.

The Movie List

Eid weekend is upon us, and its going to be a rather long one so for this one I have a few movies piled up into the pipeline. Some are blockbusters like The Dictator, and The Hunger Games and some are not, and a few Asian movies thrown into the mix. I know for sure I’m going to watch The Dictator again, its just that funny, and Raid The Redemption is at the top of my watch list at the moment.

  • The Lucky One
  • Bachelorette
  • The Pirates! Band of Misfits
  • The Dictator
  • Choy Lee Fut
  • Himizu
  • The Rise And Fall Of The White Collar Hooligan

Movies – The List Just Never Ends

A very interesting line up with a few foreign films thrown into the mix, Man On A Ledge was at the top of my watch list and it was worth it. I’m thinking about watching Act Of Valor even if it did get mixed reviews, but Hick seems really interesting. War of the Arrows is the foreign film I want to watch, and The Flower of War is a foreign film starring Christian Bale which Im assuming will be good. Journey 2 looks like one of those fun movies to watch on a slow day.

  • Act of Valor
  • Bad Ass
  • Detachment
  • Hick
  • Iron Sky
  • Intruders
  • John Carter
  • Journey 2 The Mysterios Island

This Week’s Movie Line Up

So many movies so little time, this is the list of movies that I have recently downloaded, a few good blockbusters and a few interseting movies that I haven’t had a good look at yet. I want to watch Underworld Awakening since I have always been a fan of the movie series since the original Underworld, and I’m a big fan of Kate Bakinsale. Then if I feel like a ridiculous movie then The Legend of the Awesomest Maximus is at the top of this list, and a dirty comedy would be The Sitter. I wish I had the time to finish all the movies I have piled up.

  • Underworld Awakening
  • One For The Money
  • Carnage
  • Colombus Circle
  • Machine Gun Preacher
  • The Descendents
  • Sket
  • The Muppets
  • We Bought A Zoo
  • Dark Tide
  • Seeking Justice
  • The Awakening
  • The Legend of Awesomest Maximus
  • The Sitter
  • Young Adult

Review: Shinjuku Incident

A simple Chinese immigrant wages a perilous war against one of the most powerful criminal organizations on the planet in this sprawling action drama directed by Derek Yee (ONE NIGHT IN MONGKOK) and starring Jackie Chan, Daniel Wu, and Masaya Kato.

Jackie Chan is one of my all time favorite actors because he is good at what he does and sticks to it. This the first time I see a crime mob drama from Jackie Chan, and I have been waiting over a year to see this movie, and it is well worth the wait, probably the best movie that Jackie Chan has ever done and it involves very little of Jackie Chan’s usual Martial Arts. Many Chinese in the 90s immigrated to Japan for work, they were left to do menial work and ignored by main stream society. Jackie Chan or Steelhead started making the Chinese work together, and getting caught in the cross fires of a Yakuza war. Steelhead decides to work with certain heads of the Yakuza to help them in their war and it goes deeper then he thought possible. This movie was banned in the main land China because it was deemed too bloody but it seems to be a sensitive subject for the Chinese and Japanese. It is one of the best modern movie that I have seen come out of China or Japan, I pulled in by every moment of it.

Shinjuku Incident – Jackie Chan

I follow all Jackie Chan movies religiously, even if people think its a bit lame, I think he is amazing for performing his own stunts and being so lively in all the characters he plays.

Now this is a new movie which is a little different then what you would expect from Jackie Chan. This movie revolves around the tension between the history of the Chinese and Japanese which isn’t spoken of too often. Its story about a farmer working in China, who left for Japan to find his niece, whats very interesting is that you see the deeper side of the story because you get both the Chinese and Japanese actors. Surprisingly this movie has been banned in China, I am really looking forward to seeing it.
