Solo Riding

This Friday I had only had one bike to ride which is the lovely Ducati 1098s, the Diavel took its own little adventure in preparation for another Epic trip. Getting on the bike is a must every week, and I love taking advantage of the empty roads. This was one of the rare times that I was riding solo, I was used to it in the early years of riding in Kuwait but I got used to riding with a few people every weekend but this time around their machines were not available for the outing.

I took the sea side right after getting a quick drink at Starbucks like usual, and it was a bit humid but just as long as you are riding the weather isn’t too bad. Its still a mix of cool and hot, and the humidity doesn’t help. When it gets cooler I know there are going to be a lot more bikers on the road. The funny part is seeing the people out driving with their top down enjoying their convertibles and I can’t blame them, its just too nice to stay indoors.

Since this was the first time in a while that I ride solo, I was riding a bit more aggressively then usual, I just wanted to push myself a bit and try a few things out during the ride and I have really missed riding the 1098s, when its summer you can’t really ride that bike, it just gets too hot in the wrong places. But I remembered why I loved riding it, it sends chills down my spine when flying around the corners, a rush like no other.

Le Monstre by D3 – Cadillac CTS-V’s Distant Scary Cousin

The thing that I love about Chevy/Cadillac’s high powered vehicles is that they make machines that make you laugh, that is the thing about American cars, you laugh like a kid when you are behind the wheel. The Cadillac CTS-V is one beast and they just took it to another level, tuning it to 1000 bhp and adding components to turn it into a racing machine and I for one would to try this machine out. And the Matte Black does look pretty damn good on it, I’m assuming it took a lot of parts to change it into this beast.

The Only Points That Need To Be Known:

  • 1001HP
  • 1000TQ
  • 5:1 power to weight ratio
  • 427 CID w/3.6L Supercharger System
  • Toyo Proxes T1R tires (front: 275/30ZR20; rear: 345/25ZR20)
  • 1+G On The Skid Pad

Refreshing Ride

I get anxious these days to ride and enjoy going out with the few remaining days of cool weather. Saturday late afternoon just before sunset is the perfect time to ride other then waking up at the break of dawn. I enjoy riding at dawn the most because of the empty streets but these days I have been so busy I take what ever sleep I can get. I put my gear on, with the new playlist which is perfect on a decent ride so I can listen through it. I always have my songs on playlist repeat and shuffled songs so I don’t know what to expect, some songs get me energized so I got faster and ride harder and some songs make me want to stand on the pegs and dance. I used to do that in the US, dance to the songs, tap the tank and enjoy myself, but in Kuwait I don’t do too much of that so they won’t think I’m insane and so they won’t run me over.

The cool weather is a perfect 26C as I’m riding, and the best thing about the K1200R is that it doesn’t cook your legs when its warmed up. A fun ride around town and a ton of torque at my control. Song after song I was enjoying getting through traffic and enjoying the roads, at sunset there is some traffic but not too much. One thing that I noticed recently is that over the years a lot of people are more considerate to drivers, they move slightly to the side giving you the inside lane to get through knowing the bike is faster. It was a fun ride, after taking a fun route to my cousins house we chilled and watched BSG before heading home around 10:00 pm and I was riding fast to get home, your mind just gets into a precise zone when riding at night, it felt like I was flowing through, precision riding, judging cars, corners, distance, and speed, its a fantastic feeling when riding.

MTM Audi R8 GT3-2

The Audi R8 is an intriguing machine that has taken the supersports by storm, amazingly handling and powerful machine, but it just needed a little tweak to make it that monster on the street. That is why there are successful German aftermarket companies such as MTM around. They have turned this V8 R8 into a different type of creature on the road based on its many modifications turning it into the GT3-2.

The modified 4.2 Liter V8 has been done but the modification to the drivetrain is something new. The Quattro since has been changed to a pure rear wheel driving machine, changing the driving dynamics of the machine behind that Audi steering wheel. Carbon fiber aerodynamic parts, large front and rear brakes, adjustible suspension, Bilstein adjustable suspension, MTM’s Bimoto forged wheels are some of the changes made. For the most important part being the modified engine bringing it to 560 bhp and 428 lb-ft, a little more pull then the R8 V10 and a different driving experience.

The Audi R8 is one of those cars which are nearly perfect, and Audi just keeps improving it, but it takes someone specialized to take the machine to the next level. ABT have squeezed the power it wants out of the V10 as well as skimming most of the fat from the car. They have engineered the car to be at optimal level to serve as a race car and a drivable day car, its no easy feat to take off 100 KG from already highly race ready machine but they have managed to do it perfectly.

With all the modifications comes a nice amount of power to compliment it, with the 5.2 FSI V10 modified to 620 bhp from its stock power. With the weight reduction and power increase this car becomes lightening fast with a 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 9.9 seconds, and a top speed of 325 km/h which is insane. ABT has limited production of this specimen to 25 vehicles, and I haven’t seen a price announced for it yet.

9ff – GT9-R – Redefines Scary

9ff are not just a company that modifies Porsches, but a company that produces some very scary race cars and the 9ff GT9R is case in point. the GT9R is loosely based on the Porsche 911, almost every component of this machine is built from scratch. Producing 1120 horsepower and a claimed 414 km/h (257 mph) top speed, it knocks the SSC Ultimate Aero TT off its top perch and takes the crown for the fastest production car. Based on their announced numbers the GT9R it’ll hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds, 200 km/h (124 mph) in 7.4 and 300 (186 mph) in 14.9, I can’t wait for someone to test this machine out to give us the real numbers.

Only 20 pieces of this machine will be made a year, price hasn’t been announced but its not going to be any less then half a million to have one parked in your garage. There is the lesser version of it available if you would like one when the quota is met, but I think the GT9 is no vehicle to be mocked or it would bite your head off.

Lingenfelter 2010 Camaro

It seems that the Camaro isn’t what we expected it to be, there have been odd reviews about its performance but GM can’t really make a machine that competes with the Corvette. So Lingenfelter have taken up that challenge, this is just a rendering of what its going to look like. The power packages start at 550 bhp all the way up to 800 bhp, now that would be a monster of a machine.

Innotech C6 Corvette

I have to say that I never thought a Czech company would be able to improve the look of the Corvette and yet they did. It has a bit of similar look to a 599, and they also have some engine modifications available for C6, Z06, and ZR1. I’m curious to see what these machines are able to do since they do perform in the first place.

Geiger Corvette Z06

This is one of the coolest looking Z06s I have ever seen, and I love the color matte black on this machine, and the orange strip makes it look mean. I’m not sure what they did to the rear of the vehicle but it looks very good. It seems Geiger is a German company that modifies American vehicles, I’m not sure exactly what they do to it but it looks damn good.

2008 AC Schnitzer ACS1 BMW 1-Series Convertible

AC Schnitzer tend to make some interesting modifications to vehicles and sometimes odd ones. I have always found the BMW 1-series interesting especially in the right setting and they have modified this one, the exterior looks very nice and nice bump for the engine power, 360 bhp instead of 304 bhp. I think with the right performance upgrades this would be a great
