Spartacus – Gods of The Arena

Spartacus: Gods Of The Arena is a six-part adventure following a new gladiator called Gannicus. Is now coming back, the main character from the Original Spartacus is out of the picture due to cancer coming back aggressively so the show was postponed but it seems they have come up with another story line. This is a prequel to the original story to tell the story of the House of Batiatus, and the name of Spartacus. It seems that Spartacus Season 2 will be taking place sometime next summer, lets hope by then that Andy Whitfield’s battle with cancer will be over and he will be back to full health.

Review: Spartacus

Betrayed by the Romans. Forced into slavery. Reborn as a Gladiator. The classic tale of the Republic’s most infamous rebel comes alive in the graphic and visceral new series, “Spartacus: Blood and Sand”. Torn from his homeland and the woman he loves, Spartacus is condemned to the brutal world of the arena where blood and death are primetime entertainment. But not all battles are fought upon the sands. Treachery, corruption, and the allure of sensual pleasures will constantly test Spartacus. To survive, he must become more than a man. More than a gladiator. He must become a legend.

Below is a slight short warning of the show but it doesn’t even define the gruesomeness of this show, you think that it couldn’t get any crazier but it does and they set their limits very far.

Spartacus depicts extreme sensuality, brutality and language that some viewers may find objectionable.

The show is a historical portrayal of ancient Roman Society and the intensity of the content is to suggest an authentic representation of that period

This show took a quick turn for the better, it got a mixed reception of people liking it and disliking it. I for one wasn’t too keen on it from the first few episodes since the graphics seemed a bit cheap, but I was very mistaken, it takes a quick turn for the better and very quickly. As the statement above says its a graphic representation of that period, not the noble kind we are used to seeing of Romans but the raw and ruthless that would show of the time. The show revolves around Spartacus and the Gladiators, and it is filled with twist after twist. The show is just greatly thoughout and its different the show Rome that people might compare it to, its not for everyone’s appetite but nonetheless an amazing show which I’m looking forward to season 2 and not sure what to expect and the ending is epic.

The TV Shows

The summer shows are always light and fun, some actions, some sci fi, a little thriller, a great combination of shows for the summer. The only one I’m watching that isn’t part of the summer line up is Spartacus which is drawing me but not as a good as I expected, enjoying the action the graphics are a little over the top and not enough story to bite into. But the rest are the usual great shows, I just can’t get enough of Eureka, Royal Pains, and Lie to Me.
