Review: Gargantia On The Verdurous Planet

Gargantia

While fighting an intense inter-galactic war, a mecha pilot was accidentally warped into a space-time neither he nor the computer of his mecha could recognize. After waking up from a long-time hibernation, he found himself trapped on a planet, with human residents talking in an unknown form of language, using inferior technologies, and — most shocking to him — naturally breathable air.

Gargantia2

This Mecha anime starts off with an Epic battle, all forms of Mecha versus a jellyfish like Enemy who is more then formidable against there great numbers. From the start Gargantia had me excited from the start, I love when there is a mix of cel and cg animation to bring out the depth of the characters and action in the story. I was slowly getting to love the main character and his mech, they were totally out of place on this earth and slowly adapting to their current situation as circumstances changed. The story kept heading for an insane climax but at the end of all of it, it just didn’t hit what I was really expecting, I expected something Epic but instead I was left wanting more. I enjoyed this Mecha anime but wanted more.
