Bleach – Live in Action...

BleachLive1.jpg
BleachLive2.jpg

I’m a huge fan of Bleach, and seeing these human characters of the anime are really uncanny! Some of them are identical and a few are bit off, but I really like what they did with the characters! Looks really cool.

Nice Surprise...

package1.jpg

Just before leaving for Germany I ordered some DVDs, a book, and an Access Point. To my surprise it arrived Thursday morning but due to all the work related issues I didn’t see them until I got back from work, its like a little gift to myself everytime I see a box even if I know whats in it!

I was have I got these two animes to continue watching my shows, and to finish them.

  • Godannar
  • Baki the Grappler (It has been a long wait to finish this series, 12 DVDs in total)

I also got the whole Tenchi Series because I want to watch it all again!

And I ordered some movies which I wanted to add to my collection:

  • Borat (Glorious nation of Khazikstan, hehehe)
  • Casino Royale
  • The Departed

I’m also doing a little rewiring in the house trying to get the wireless signal all over the place so I’m installing some Cat6 wiring but first I need to see if there is space in the piping, this will get interesting.

Review: Chrono Crusade...

chronocrusade.jpeg

chronocrusade2.jpg

Plot Summary: The year is 1928 A.D. The place is New York, U.S.A. The economic prosperity brought forth after the Great War also heightened the presence of something far darker and much more sinister: the demonic Sinners. The Magdalene Order is an organization that tries to counter this force. Two of its exorcists are Rosette Christopher and her assistant, Chrono. Both appear out of place in an organization like this, and they are in a quest to find Rosette’s missing brother, Joshua. Their relationships, secrets and fates can only be revealed in time…

This is one hell of anime, the pace just doesn’t stop. Its between the Earth, Heaven, and Hell with Rosette and Chrono stuck in the middle. Chrono is a devil but working the Magdalene Order and he is helping Rosette to find her brother. Whats interesting is the concept of Hell’s role in the Universe and how each of these devils have different concepts and that they fight amongst each other. The anime is great, I love the songs used in the start and endings, and the storyline is easy to follow but still keeps you wanting more. It isn’t a typical ending, but that is what is so great about it. I recommend this anime for whoever enjoys watching anime, the anime will end and you will miss these characters.

Review: Hellsing...

hellsing1.jpg

hellsing2.jpg

Plot Summary: Hellsing follows the antiheroic vampire, Alucard, and a police girl-turned-vampire, Seras Victoria, two vampires employed by the vampire-extermination group of England, the Hellsing Organization. Slowly but surely, through their active duty, they find a new breed of vampires beginning to arise.

Watching Hellsing is really interesting since you get into this anime as the Hellsing organization represents the protestants in England. And the Catholic Church despise them and consider everywhere to be their jurisdication. This is a noir type anime with vampires and lots of blood, but this isnt just it, there is an underlying story that you slowly find out as you watch this anime and keeps pulling you in more and more. Alucard is the most mysterious character since he is a demon for a vampire and he serves the humans and is the Hellsing Organizations’ Trump Card. It is a battle with the vampires and clashes with the Vatican, its one hell of anime and by the end of the 13 episodes you want more and want to see more. I really enjoyed it.

Cosplay...

Zabuza [Naruto]

Cosplay, a contraction of the English words “costume” and “play”, is a Japanese subculture centered on dressing as characters from manga, anime, tokusatsu, and video games, and, less commonly, Japanese live action television shows, fantasy movies, or Japanese pop music bands. However, in some circles, “cosplay” has been expanded to mean simply wearing a costume.

In Japan, “cosplay” as a hobby is usually an end unto itself. Likeminded people gather to see others’ costumes, show off their own elaborate handmade creations, take lots of pictures, and possibly participate in best costume contests.

Well this is something that a lot of anime addicts are into, personally I think some are very cool and they do an amazing job and some are really bad but funny. I can’t honestly get into custome, except maybe a robot and on my bike. But some of these are really amazing and I just can’t help but think they are amazing. It takes a specific type of appreciation to go to the lengths some of these people have gone. These pictures are one of the best I have ever seen.

AnimeTV...

animetv0.jpg

Thanks to Angelo’s post I checked out AnimeTV for the first episode which is a video podcast about anime. Its a bunch of people who are enthusiatic about anime and the host Johnny Yong Bosch (Voice of Vash the Stampede, and Ichigo from Bleach). I just saw the 2nd episode and its quiet an improvement, with a funny part to it. I hope they keep going like this but bring us more recent animes, for now I think they are covering the major ones to establish a base for them which is good. They air every thursday, and its only around 18 mins long, worth checking out.

Gundamn 1:1 Scale in Taiwan...

gundam-lantern-00.jpg

gundam-lantern-01.jpg

There was a competition and they built this monster of a lantern from the Gundam RX-78. I think this is pretty damn cool that they put this much effort into make a perfect live duplicate of the Gundam. From the pictures it looks like its 50 meters high just sitting there.

Review: Blood +...

blood_overview.jpg

Plot Summary: Throughout the passage of time and the shifts in backgrounds, a particular war continues to leave its mark on history, extending its influence into the modern world. There are two major groups involved in the ensuring war. The first group consists of monsters known as Chiropterans who can change their appearances into that of human beings. They are actually immortals who feed on the blood of the living. The second group is an organisation known as the “Red Shield”, formed to track down these monsters and exterminate them. Otonashi Saya is a high-school girl who lives a peaceful life with her family. The only problem is, she has no recollections of her life beyond that of the past year. However, her happy life will be destroyed by an event that will lead her to her destined fate.

This was a bit of a long anime about Saya who is one is the queen of the Chiropterans, and her sister Diva who is also another queen. Diva is trying to fill the world with her Chiropteran and she only has sense of destruction, chaos, and dispair. Saya loves her family and wants to protect her friends. The story does have tragedy and action with a lot of drama, but I felt it was a little too long it could have been warpped up a little faster. There is a lot a blood shed but it is a really good anime and I really enjoyed it. You get pulled into Saya’s life and her friends and how Kai develops throughout the anime, you just keep getting pulled in more and more into it and want to see where the conclusion is, and I have to say I was satisfied, but I wish the pace was a little faster.

Slight Anime Confusion...

Trigun21.jpg

When I finished up with the last series I was slightly confused because I forgot which anime I started and which one I was following. I want to watch one thing but I want to finish the ones I started but I can’t remember which one I did! Be it on DVD or on my PC! I usually like to stick to a max of 3 – 4. But after the last two weeks I have 6-8 sereis open and I’m not sure which one to finish up until a little bit ago.

What I have started:

  • Ergo Proxy
  • Flame of Recca
  • Ghost in the Shell 2nd GIG
  • Shadow Skill
  • Zegapain
  • Eyeshield 21
  • Naruto
  • Bleach

What I Constantly Watch:

  • Bleach
  • Naruto
  • Eyeshield 21

What I plan on finishing up since I have the whole series:

  • Blood + (I forgot about this until I went through my list)
  • Ghost in the Shell 2nd GIG (Finishing with a friend)
  • Shadow Skill (Finishing with a Friend)

Blood + is the main one that I want to finish up since I realized I had all the episodes. Too many animes I want to watch at the same time.
