Nocturnal Gundam in Tokyo...

Now they have taken it to another level, the RX-78 looks fantastic. I have never wanted to see an attraction so badly such as this. The colors of this light makes it look like its about to move. I also appreciate good photography shots, and these are amazing shots taken of the Gundam, it looks like it has been called into action and about to take off. are we at an age when robots like these will come into use?

Life Size Gundam in Tokyo...

How cool is that, the Japanese have taken the step in the right direction. They have built a life size Gundam in Odaiba, I can’t believe they have finally completed it. This is the Gundam from the Original Series, the RX-78 Gundam. The detail of this Gundam is amazing, I wish I could see it, it will be taken down at the end of August but I hope they keep it up somehwere because that is really a work of art and such an attraction. Check out the link for a lot more details.

Black Ox Skadeboard...

I’ve have always been a fan of Black Ox from back in the day, and while roaming the vast archives of Vimeo I stumbled upon this fantastic video. I am really amazed how people can put simple videos such as this together, I am one person who lacks the skills to do this but I do enjoy watching it. I prefer the quality of Vimeo movies to that of every other online media such youtube and dailymotion.

Review: Rideback...

Plot Summary
: In a future world where an organization called the GGP has taken control of the world, Rin Ogata was a promising up-and-comming ballet dancer, but suffered a serious injury and decided to quit. Years later in college she comes across a club building and soon finds herself intrigued by a transforming motorcycle like vehicle called a Rideback. She soon finds that her unique ballet skills with balance and finesse make her a born natural on a Rideback.

You get caught up with this anime after the first episode, who wouldn’t like motorcycles that turn into robots. These machines are called Ridebacks and Ogata Rin who is a prodigy ballet dancer had accident so she is unable to continue her after from. When she gets on the Rideback she feels that it is an extension of her will, to perform the way she wants and it responds. Some how things get escalated between her and the GPP who are trying to take Japan completely over, but it doesn’t work out too nicely. A fast paced anime with robots flying and riders riding, a simple fun anime which gets you hooked right away.

Anime 05/09...

So much to watch and so little time, I have been downloading nonstop for months now but at this point I haven’t completely lost track of the anime I want to watch next. There is a lot of good animations out, some of them are fantastic, but these are the main ones that I am currently following. There are a few that I am holding off on because at the rate I’m going with them, I won’t be sleeping much. I’m happy I managed to finish a few over the past month, but I end up not sleeping much because of it but some of these stories are too damn good I can’t wait to watch the next episode and before I realize the sun is already up and I have to go to work. I have been recently looking for places that sell cel art of these animes so I can put them up as a set of pictures, I think that would look pretty good.

Review: Eyeshield 21...

Plot Summary: Kobayakawa Sena is a little guy who always get picked on by the bullies in school. Since elementary school, he always play the role of the ‘errand boy’ to the extent that he has become swift and fast in his movements. Coincidentally, Hiruma Youichi and Kurita Ryukan are looking for a fast running back for their American Football team (Amefuto) and want to put Sena in the team. To hide their new ‘star’ player from the eyes of other High Schools, Hiruma encases Sena in a Amefuto helmet with a dark visor and name him Eyeshield #21.

After 145 episodes at last Eyeshield 21 has come to an end, and what an adventure it was. I feel like I went through all this adventure with the whole Deimon Devil Bats team, I know them by heart, their positions, their numbers, and their personalities. My favorite is Hiruma because he is insane and always pushing his team, then there is Sena, Monta, Kurita, and then all the other amazing players from the other teams. I love American Football, probably the only sport that I love playing and watching so much. I could connect with Sena Kobayakawa since he is the amazing running back of the Deimon Devil Bats, the invincible Eyeyshield 21. I played the running back position so I could relate to him but I wasn’t fast, I was only good at taking a beating from the other teams tacklers. Watching the last episode of the anime felt like saying good bye to a group of friends, so many ups and downs, you felt happy from every episode, they fought so many battles with so many teams and improving their skills just so they could beat Ojou White Knights and head towards the Christmas Bowl. So many different characters and so much fun, you would really relate to any number of them, especially through all the hardships they went through to get to the top. I’m not sure if there is going to be anything after this but even after so many years I still want to see more of Eyeshield 21.

Gundam Fix Metal Composite MSZ-006A1/C! ...

A metal Gundam figure is rare to find, luckily for me I have received two as a gift from a friend. One is blue and the other is red, they came in pretty big boxes. I started with the red one since I have been watching the last Gundam series and it got me worked up. It turns out this figure can have about four different variations, two are robots and two are planes, and it gets pretty complicated.

I unpacked the boxes, kept everything its place but spread around me on the floor. The instructions are in Japanese but its pretty clear from the pictures, but sometimes I had a hard time trying to figure out how exactly they stayed in place. I didn’t go for the plane version of the Gundam I’m thinking of doing that for the other one, with the Robot version you have a lot of options. The bigger robot version looks damn cool but the normal version looks great as well, so I went halfway and beefed up the normal version a bit. Didn’t take too long, one hour and a bit of sitting on the floor and tinkering with it and all the different pieces and I have my Gundam put together.

Now to find a place for it, after searching around I decided to put it in the location of the evil Mazinger and move that next to my other Mazinger Z figures. Right now its sitting next to my Sonos Speaker and looks pretty good. I really have to reorganize the items I have in my room, too many things piled up.

Review: Gundam 00 S2...

Plot Summary: 2312 A.D. Four years have passed since the final battle between Celestial Being and the UN Forces. Humanity, after having established the Earth Sphere Federation, forms an independent security force, A-LAWS, separate from the formal Federation army to further unify nations and the will of mankind. But in reality it is simply inhumane oppressing anti-government powers, doctrines, and ideologies in the name of unity. Setsuna F. Seiei, after surviving the battle four years ago, has decided to once again fight with his Gundam.

Following a few years after the battle during Celestial Being, which I thought was a great conclusion. The writers of the story left an underlying story to be developed and it turned into a huge battle. The anime is fantastic but you have to see the original to follow this second season of Gundams to know whats going on. I didn’t think the first one could have been topped but I was wrong, this goes above and beyond. Setsuna progresses forward and follows his path, now the established A-Laws have fake GN-Drives so they are a match for the Gundams but the Meisters are the advantage. It doesn’t take long for the Anime to pull you in and get you hooked, there is never a boring episode. Each time something takes place you can’t believe what happens next, you want to stay up and watch the next episode. I really can’t recommend this anime enough.

Review: Kekkaishi...

Plot Summary: Sumimura Yoshimori, a 14-year-old junior high school boy, is a descendant of Kekkaishi, or an exterminator of monsters He is vying for the heir to the family with Yumikura Tokine. Tokine is older than him, and she is his childhood friend as well as his rival Kekkaishi. To save people from the crises, and to make himself stronger, Yoshimori fights against monsters tonight, too.

This anime took me a little while, I expected to be a little boring from the start of it. I tend to want to finish anime even though it wasn’t the most interesting, but this turned out to be a great anime. Yoshimori is the legitimate successor of the Kekkaishi but he has no idea what that really means. They are protecting a land called Karasumori which has powers unknown to both the Kekkaishi and the Ayakashi (Demons), the Kekkaishi just want to stop the Ayakashi. The first couple of episodes are a bit boring, but as time progresses it really picks up and I flew through the last 25 episodes.

Review: Street Fighter IV The Ties That...

streetfighteriva

This is a 65 minute animation that came with the special edition Street Fighter IV game for those who bought it (And those who didn’t can now find it online). I was very excited to hear about a Street Fighter Animation, I remember the Street Fighter 2V which was fantastic and engaging at the same time, the characters in that animation were fantastic. I had very high expectations for this anime and I was sorely disappointed with this animation, if they just wanted to release an animation with this game then they should have really worked hard on it.

streetfighterivb

First off they jumped right into the story without any character background assuming you know what the hell is going on. I do have a really good idea but a refresher would be nice, and on another note does Ryu have to be tormented right away. They could have done a better job concentrating on specific characters and developing them over the 65 minute period instead of trying to introduce so many characters. It didn’t connect so well and Ryu has another goal in mind, but the story takes another track which ends up too short and you are left at the end with too many questions, not enough to want more but annoyed you even watched. Also the dubbing of the animation was horrible, so with no feeling in any of the voices.
