Just one those simple things that get very complicated when you don’t need it to be. I have come to know that in reality the bank only needs an account number and a routing number or swift code of the bank to make a transfer, the rest is all gibberish. When you see all these movies and money transfers taking place, they happen with the click of a button, money is here then there. I don’t really understand why it takes three to five days for a wire transfer to go through, I’m not a finance guy I’m just annoyed that it isn’t instant, the money instantly disappears from your account but not showing up in the other is annoying. And if you say you want to pay the fees of the transfer for the receiver, they always charge them some fee which is a farce.
I ordered the HP 5101 netbook about three weeks ago with some high specifications and at last it has shipping out of HP, it took a little longer because I customized it.

After the mistake HP made with the Via chip, I’m happy they went with the Intel Atom chips which are much faster. What I found surprising is that it only comes with XP Home, so I ordered the separate 2 GB ram stick and I will format and install XP Pro right away, then download the necessary drivers to use all the hardware on it. Now I’m getting anxious to get the laptop, nothing better then setting up new hardware.
There are those times you just look at a pile of items and you think to yourself that you will never get to it. I have been looking at this pile of books and comic books for the past 2 months and I have never really gotten around to organizing and sorting them, one of the annoyances is that I will find out that my Transformer comic book collection is incomplete.
Cleaning up some of my unused hardware and getting rid of the broken ones has been a step forward, I have helped liberate some areas for more models. Thats my problem the more space I make the more items keep popping up. I want an area for my rare original Iron Man bust, but I really have to find the right location for it and out of reach of the kids. I have the same problem with books that I do with anime, whenever I finish a good one I don’t know what to start next, so many different genres to choose from.

- Dismantling Bunker-Server (WHS Server)
- Put together Rack Server, and installing Vista Business 64-Bit, test VM Ware on it
- Get rid of things that I’m not using and clean up
- Consolidate Pictures into the WHS Server, but that will take a long time to do
I have one filled up Amazon cart with a selection of books, dvds, and a few tech items which I have been keeping on the back burner for some time now. I have this urge to hit the purchase button and wait for those deliveries which probably won’t arrive before Ramadan at the rate these deliveries are going.
Its annoying when customs go through this loop, I don’t think there is anything that passes through customs these days without it being opened. I have been waiting for the Flip Ultra HD for some time now, I ordered it from Amazon with my Barney book, the Bro Code. It got stuck in customs for three days because they didn’t like that the there were was a quantity of two from the cameras, even though I said its for personal use.
I had to wait for Aramex to clear it, I gave them my civil ID and I gave them the go head, it cost 10 KD more for them to clear it but I didn’t feel like going and deal with those guys. First thing I did was unpack one of the Flip Ultra HDs and I started flipping through the Bro Code. You know in TV shows when somebody is thinking something and there is a picture of a person talking above his head and you can see him and hear him, when I was reading the Bro Code I could hear Barney Stinson talking and telling me the importance of the Bro Code, and I couldn’t stop laughing at all the different Articles, this is going to be an easy and entertaining read.
I have been watching 24 for seven faithful years at this point, and I think that Kim Bauer should be killed for the good of the show. Kim Bauer kept Jack Bauer from completing his missions in almost every season, she is annoying and whiny and some how always gets caught at the worst possible moment by these insane bad guys. She is always the reason that Jack Bauer almost dies and season seven was the last straw for me, if I had a 9mm or 45, I would put some holes in her already and get it over with. Jack has went to hell and back, lost most of his family, been tortured in unimaginable ways, exposed to a deadly virus, doing what needs to be done and what nobody wants to do to protect his country, I think he deserves a break and that would be having Kim Bauer shot and done with.
I was walking down the stairs the other day and I heard a click in my left knee, just above my knee cap and something felt oddly wrong. I think I placed my foot slightly in one direction and the knee didn’t rotate correctly so there was that click. Later on as I was walking I felt some pain in my left knee, felt like shooting pain through my knee. Even when I was laying down something just felt odd about that joint, I wasn’t sure what was causing the pain but I could clearly feel it. Even when I would walk quickly it felt like my knee is going to bend in the other direction, and this is probably the weekend which I moved the least so I’m not sure what physical activity caused this little problem, but I know I need to get back in shape and this pain is ridiculously annoying.
- Duplication issues take place so the warnings come out and WHS notifier shows exceptions that files that can’t be duplicated.
- A warning stating low storage space warning on Hazmat Server
- Drive Extender Failure due to duplication issues.
All these services on WHS which face issues when you are at capacity, I will have this resolved hopefully by end of next week but I don’t like running at the edge. At this point I think I have become extremely dependent on my WHS server since it houses everything. The only thing that I think they should have adjusted is having a recycling bin in the WHS if you accidentally delete something you would be able to recover it.
X-Box live is probably what made me the X-Box experience so much better then the PS3 multiplayer games, its a hell of a lot of fun and easy to use. I’m still sticking to the X-Box 360 and enjoying the graphics, I’m curious to see what other upgrade they have in mind, but there are a few annoyances that I think that should be adjust but probably won’t.
- Really Annoying Sign-In – Once you sign into one location you can’t sign into another machine without going through the process of password recovery which is painstakingly annoying. I don’t know why you can’t just sign in normally and can’t be signed in at two locations, its that simple instead of this ridiculous process.
- Region Locked Trailers – Its trailers not movies, people just want to enjoy a movie’s trailer to see whats coming up next why do they have to lock it so you can’t see the trailers, you can see any trailer on youtube so it makes no sense to lock the out X-Box players from seeing trailers.
- Region Lock Downloads – I’m trying to download the new maps and features of Gears of War 2 and it says that you can’t download it due to the region I’m in, even though I have US region game and XBox. I have to program the damn router to show route through the VPN in states so the XBox sees a US IP address. This really makes no sense why they do this, everyone would pay for Microsoft points to download more additions to games or themes.
I have been on a downloading rampage and the results are aparent, I pretty much forgot about Hazmat Windows Home Server since upgrading it to 14 TB in May. It didn’t take long to fill it to capacity and with only 70% duplication for a few folders. Its really not recommend to reach that high a capacity with all the hard drives, they balance each other and right now very little data can flow between the hard drives to spread the data. So now I’m running on suicide watch, keeping an eye on the server to see if anything goes wrong right now, one of the hard drivers required to be repaired because the data was slighlty inconsistent. I stuck with my other WHS since I think the Motherboard died and I knew it was on the verge of giving up but I have been too damn lazy to perform the transplant. So I have jumped the gun for a quick solution, I ordered a Sans Digital Sata 8 TowerRaid which will connect to the other two eSata connections on the PCI-X card in Hazmat Server. I’m crossing my fingers that the Tower Raid gets here quickly.
After 10 faithful years I have switched to the new Landcruiser VX, I have been a faithful driver of the Landcruiser for 10 years at this point and my Landcruiser has held on strong and it has been the perfect car for all situations and managing to take a beating without so much as squeak from the car. I have to say that I do drive hard but I take to its maintenance schedule and change all the parts necessary. But now I have change cars to the new Landcruiser and I have pretty much all that I wanted except for a manual car instead of an automatic and this is due to Toyota’s belt tightening scheme with very little modified orders, you can only ask for so many specific items and if the dealers want something very specific they have to have a minimum order of 250 cars before making a change to their manufacturing line.
The first thing I did as soon as I got the car was take to Huper Optik in Al Rai for a nice semi-dark tint to go with the color of the car and a nice big GulfRun sticker on the rear tire. After trying out multiple tint places across Kuwait and really checking out the real heat protection and putting it to the test, I was surprised that the results didn’t match what these places quoted and Llumar was really doing a lot false advertising and I would avoid Ibtikar, VKool and Zeibart are decent but Huper Optik turned out to be the best and their tint is ceramic not metallic such as all the other tinting companies. Two reasons I went with Huper Optik there resistance to heat was the highest by far and the tint doesn’t interfere with the GPS strength. I’m going to go into a detailed post about tinting in Kuwait at a later point.
I have to say that I am very happy with the new Landcruiser, after 5000 + KMs on the odometer it really does have everything. If you are looking for a fast SUV then this is not it, but if you are looking for roomy, comfortable, solid handling, powerful, amazing sound, reliability, great air conditioning and aggressive looks then this car is for you. I asked for the rear tire option as I don’t like the under carriage tire option so with that option I lost out on have a back up camera and extra sensors, but my old land cruiser didn’t have a back up camera or sensors until very late in its age so I could live without it. I went for a dark grey interior and exterior with the dark tint I think it looks pretty good. Three main improvements over the 99-2007 Landcruiser, the gearing is smoother and peppier, the suspension is much better handling, the brakes a world of differences it really stops because they are all disc brakes now not drum brakes, the interior is roomier and the sound system is nice unlike the old one. Two points which were a bit annoying the engine is the 4.7 Liter and not the 5.7 Liter which is available in the US and the new Lexus LX 570 so its the same engine the older model but they have geared it right with a lot more torque, there is no iPod integration because Japan considers it to be a luxury option which shouldn’t be in the Landcruiser. Other then that I have to say that I am extremely happy with the Landcruiser and love driving it every day, plus I have the remote start which cools the car before I get into it and it has work from 10 floors up in a building but steel structures can get in the way sometimes.
