Random Day...

It was a full and random day, there was a lot to do and with very little sleep I was running around doing a few things with family and friends, and then I was in a zombie state most of the day from my lack of sleep but somehow still moving along.

  • Slept at 2:30 am and woke up at 5:30 am
  • Drop off at airport around 7:30 am
  • 8:30 am At family house to say hello..
  • 9:30 am Picked up friend
  • 10:00 am Avenues
  • 10:35 am Breakfast
  • 11:25 am Went for a Shave and Cut
  • 12:45 pm Went home, we wanted to swim but the weather took a turn for the worse
  • 1:15 pm Everybody was showing up for a late lunch
  • 3:00 pm Lunch, and we were all pretty hungry
  • Watched a the 2008 MTV Movie Awards (Ironman is the best, Megan Fox is hot, Liv Tyler is hot, women love Johnny Depp, Jack Black is hilarious)
  • 3:45 pm We started watching Enemy of the State and its a damn good movie
  • 4:55 pm Went to Rihab to check out a few games
  • 5:30 pm Back Home Relaxing and fell asleep for a bit

That felt like a very full Friday

The Shopping Cart...

I always tend to postpone purchasing anything from Amazon for a little while until I have a few items. I was looking for a small tripod for use when I’m taking pictures and from a lot of recommendations I’m going with the Gorilla Pod, and this one is meant for DSLR Cameras. Then there are the head phones and after looking around a bit I decided to with the newly updated Bose In-Ear Headphones are my new riding headphones. Fat is a really funny sarcastic book about 3 people trying to drop their weight, and Managing Humans is about how a good engineer doesn’t make a for a good manager, just people skills.

Some Rest...

You have those days where you reach a physical and mental limit of your capabilities. That day was today for me, I was exhausted, meetings from the morning and I was all over the place and no time to take a breather. I didn’t even have a chance to check my email in the morning so I know its going to be a pile up the next, but I will deal with that later. At one point in the day I knew that I am not able to continue with work due to a headache that just kept building up, it was around 4:30 pm and so I get in my car and head home.

I play with my niece and nephew for a little while since they just got up and were roaming around the house. I started watching some anime and fell asleep on my chair, I thought I would read little instead so I laid down on the bed at around 5:00 pm with a good book. I woke up 3 hours later to my nephew shouting power ranger and the book sitting on my chest open on the last page I was reading, that was a decent 3 hour nap.

Tired & Lazy...

Its been long days at work and my brain is exhausted. I feel like I ran a marathon, I can’t seem to keep my eyes open, so I came back home late in the evening and all I want to do is watch anime.

At this moment this is the simple train of thought going through my head:

  • Sleep – Its too early
  • Watch Anime – Will fall asleep
  • Ice Cream – Too far away
  • Go Out – Not happening
  • Be Productive – Not today

I wish I had at least 5 more hours to just do nothing and relax, but at this point I don’t think I can keep my eyes open, its just one of those days.

Out of No Where...

These dusty days have been slowing things down a bit, and it isn’t the best days to be out. I’m a bit annoyed at the weather but there wasn’t much to do about it. I wanted to just stay home, do nothing, watch a lot of anime and relax. That is how the pace was going but I had an 8:00 pm meeting for work and hopeful that it wouldn’t take more then 1.5 hours.

At around 7:55 pm I got a call telling me there is a huge problem at a certain site and it needs to be solved post haste. That pretty much ruined my night, I was working for a couple of hours, and I was on the phone shouting my head off trying to get all the facts straight so I know what steps to take next. Its the worst thing possible when that sucker punch comes out of no where, and these days there have been a lot of sucker punches at work, I have managed to bring those numbers down just so we can organize all that is going on but it is annoying trying to diffuse every situation and make sure things go smoothly from that point forward. This is going to be a long couple of weeks.

52 Hours...

Since coming back from work on Thursday I haven’t really left the house except for a few things that needed to get done, and some work on Friday morning. Overall there was no reason to leave the house, the weather has been very strange the past week. It has been and getting dustier at different times of the day, I wonder when this is going to change. Even if its hot I wanted to go riding over the weekend but it was still damn dusty. The heat isn’t the problem, the main problem is that dust, it turns the road into a slip and slide situation. I just hope we are done with all this dust, I’m looking forward to a change. Over the weekend I just caught up with my shows, watched a lot of anime, and was reading a good book.

More To Do...

Tasks that have piled up:

Network Merger – There was a slight setback since the load balancer caused more problems then solved it. I upgraded the firmware and still I was running into DNS problems, it would see some websites and can’t see others. Even with dual WAN connections I was still having problems and I don’t see any solution in sight for this issue. I have contacted netgear support to see what they have to say.

Moving Data – I’m moving almost 4 to 6 Terabyte between storage, PCs, and the Server so it does take some time to make sure it all moves without issues. I try to figure out what is the best path to take or what to start with, it is all one huge jumble which is going to take time to untangle.

Riding – I wanted to ride at dusk since it wasn’t too but I was too exhausted after work to do anything about it.

Apple iPod Touch – DOA...

So for the first time I have decided to order an iPod Touch, and in my case I really have no luck. It arrived DOA, I ordered it online and its a bit of a special case, I’m not going to send it back, I would prefer to be able to fix it in Kuwait if possible. It wouldn’t even start up or charge or anything, right away from the box, right now its just an expensive paper weight. I’m going to take it to the Marina store based on a friend’s recommendation but that doesn’t mean that they would be able to fix it. I’m going to cross my fingers and hopefully they can fix it.

My Vice...

Recently I have been coming home watching some tv shows or anime, and every time I sit down I eat some KDD Toot, the Raspberry Toot. I would sit down in front of the screen and eat two, then 15 minutes later I would head down the basement and get two more form the freezer. I would make sure that there would be at least some ice cream in the vicinity while I’m watching these shows, and these ice creams are really light so I can keep eating a lot of them. I think the most I have eaten in one day is ten pieces and at least two pieces, I remember I used to eat a lot as a kid but I know I’m hooked again.

Slight Disconnection...

Over the weekend I didn’t touch my laptop, I might have surfed on my N800 but that was about it. I didn’t check my email for a few days or anything else, it was just checking a few things out and getting some rest. Event though I know that there were a few pending emails, my Google reader was going to pile up with things and I knew I had to read all of them, I don’t like marking read without reading through it. It was just one of those things, but it did feel nice to be away from it for a bit.
