Review: Greek...

greek.jpg

This is one of the ABC shows that came out in the summer, it was more of a mini-series then anything else. You have two different people, cassie the popular girl in the college Greek system and Rusty who is a freshmen in college and he wants to enter the Greek system. Rusty is smart and enrolled the honors engineering courses, but with all his brain nothing will prepare him for the Greek life. This show looks a the Greek system through the eyes of the people living through it, you get the good and the bad like anything else in life but you really connect with the people in the show. You have some really funny people, but sometimes it gets a bit slow. There are some fun characters in the show which keeps it entertaining, and Rusty is pretty good for a nerd. For a 10 episode mini-series I think it did a good job, and the ending is good but they left a few ends if they are going to bring it back.

Review: Dexter...

dexter1.jpg

This series revolves around Dexter who is a forensic analyst for the Miami-Dade Police Department. Unknowing to his colleagues he is also a serial killer with good intentions. This show was developed by Showtime, and as soon as things start developing you notice the amazing character that is Dexter. Dexter only murders people that deserve to die, and he only does that after he has gathered all the evidence to justify their death. He was taught all the rules of his actions by his stepfather, and he was taught the logic and ethics behind all his actions. Dexter himself is a complex and amazing character just to follow his thoughts, the first seas ended and now they are beginning the second season. Its an amazing show with a fantastic plot line and great characters, and the great part is seeing the dark humor in this show.

Gossip Girl...

gossipgirl3.jpg

I usually start watching a show for a little while before getting caught on, and I’m not much for the OC type shows but there is something different about the Gossip Girl. This a show which tickles the senses, you are brought into the Manhattan Upper East Side and viewing the world from their view. The story starts revolving around Serena and how she came back after a year of disappearing, and then the story starts from there. There are those people who were part of her life just before disappearing, and who are the IT crowd, and a few characters who aren’t part of the crowd but will play an important role. There is something about Serena that I find attractive, but I can’t quite put my finger on it, yet.

Overall its a good story, with very interesting characters who play their roles very well except for a few and there is a lot to work with. If this show keeps going as the first two episodes then I think I could I am hooked on it. I recommend people to watch it, its one of the many shows that I’m currently watching. It feels like I’m tasting food with all these shows, and with this one I got my ice cream.

Halo – Last One Standing...

halo_3s.jpg

On Oct 4th on the Discovery Channel there the first showing of Halo – Last One Standing. It is the TV version of Halo 3 with all the action and suspense, and the soldiers fighting to give Master Chief the opening he needs. Take a look at the Discovery video link below to get a preview of what the show is going to be like, I’m very excited because they have done an excellent job transforming it from Console to TV, I can only imagine what the movie is going to be like if the TV version is this good.

Review: Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip...

studio60_1.jpg

I have been watching this show throughout the summer, and I only managed to finish it at this point. Its a drama about a comedy show in Los Angeles called Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and it is located on Sunset Set Blvd. Mathew Perry is one of the leading actors, and he is acting as the head writer of Studio 60 due to some circumstances. It is a dark comedy about this show, and there are lots of interesting characters in it and lots of stories between them. Each episode is a story of them trying to get through the week and the stories they are putting up for the show airing every Friday, it is just like Saturday Night Live where they make cameos and new stories every week for the shows. So there is that part of it as well as the theme that carries over and all the chemistry at Studio 60 between certain people. Amanda Peet is president of NBS on the show and she got the new executive producers for the show who are Mathew Perry and Bradely Whitford, and things just went from there. D.L Hughley was also part of the show and I was impressed with his character and what he added to the show, it really was a five star cast with a great story.

studio60_2.jpg

The show was dropped by NBC even though I think it was an extremely good show and I was afraid the ending would be horrible and unsatisfying, and leave me hanging wanting for more but there won’t be. The ending satisfied most of my curiosity and I was happy about it, but I still want more since I really did love all the characters and there was a certain level of quality to it. A good show gets you attached to the characters, and I got attached some of these characters. Even though it ended I think everyone should watch it.

My Show List...

oldtv.jpg

Currently there are a lot of good shows coming up as well as the ones I have been watching from last year. I’m happy that at the end of this month everything kicks into high gear and they start airing again. I hope the new shows are good and that they stay on instead of getting canceled.

Top Ten TV Cars...

This is a pretty cool list of the most famous cars from TV, and I have to agree with most of them. There are a few missing but overall I think these are the most famous. I remember seeing KITT in the states when I was a kid, I fell in love with that car, a talking car with attitude! Nothing would have been better!

  1. KITT, 1982 Pontiac Trans Am, “Knight Rider”

  2. The General Lee, 1969 Dodge Charger, “The Dukes of Hazzard”

Review: Kyle XY...

kylexy.jpg

Kyle XY follows a mysterious boy who looks like a teenager, but otherwise appears to be a newborn. The Trager family takes him in as one of their own.

kyle-xy2.jpg

I started watching this show about a week ago hearing that it was a good show, after watching it I think its an understatement. This is a fantastic show that ABC has put together, for once they got it right. At first you feel as lost as Kyle who is a lost person but then you realize that he is a young man with special abilities but with an unknown past who is taken in by the Trager family. Kyle is taken in by this family who becomes his family, and he is learning to be an adult from a point when he knew nothing, his thirst for experience pulls you in. He looks at the world so differently and you can’t help liking the character and the story is great. It is only 10 episodes in season 1, and the whole show is nothing short of fantastic, I recommend it for everyone to watch. They currently airing season 2 and I can’t wait to watch that.

The Day-In...

downpillows.jpg

After going to the doctor and taking the medication I knew that I was feeling really tired so I was going to take a bit of a nap before going over to my cousin’s to watch a few shows. I slept from 5:00pm until 6:45pm and I really did feel better after taking that nap, at least I felt a bit recharged and gave the medication some time to work on my stomach. I spoke to my cousin and told him the only way I’m coming is if he has the shrimp chow mien ready for me tonight or else heads will be falling off!

studio60.jpg

I was still feeling tired but a lot better, at least I didn’t feel nauseated and my head wasn’t spinning. My cousin and I just finished Jericho so we had a couple of options as to what series to watch:

  • Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
  • Day Break

We started Studio 60 and I knew it was going to be good, but I didn’t expect to be this damn good. Its one hell of a show with a great cast, at that point my cousin was thinking about skipping work and having a Studio 60 marathon to watch all 22 episodes in one go. So now we are watching this, and it is one hell of a show. Then came the shrimp chow mien, and I was a happy camper, I was eating and everything felt steady so I was happy about that. When we finished later at night I was taking my time on the drive home since I didn’t feel like I was up to driving like a F1 driver.
