Quick Cut!...

Its been a little while since I have been preoccupied, didn’t have a chance to get a shave and cut for a little while. It was getting really irritating, I would feel an urge to scratch every few minutes. So I went to the barber really looking forward to the shave, I just waited a little bit to get to my turn.

Done with my head in about 5 minutes, and my beard shave took about 20 minutes. It was the best feeling in the world having that irritating feeling shaved off cleanly. It was nice and smooth, and I was out the door heading home with a smile on my face.

The Annoying One!...

You have a friend like this! The one who is picky and has to argue for arguments sake and he is usually very entertaining. He is the one you want with you when arguing about any product or service, but yesterday was the day I wanted to annoy him and the best way to do that is when asking what he wants to eat from McDonalds.

What he wanted:
1 McSpicy (Sandwich)
1 Medium French Fries
1 Cheese Burger (No Onions, No Pickles, and I forgot what else)

What I ordered for him:
1 McSpicy (Sandwich)
1 Large French Fries
1 Double Cheese Burger (No Customization)

Was he annoyed by the Double Cheese Burger? Very Much
Was I entertained? Very Much

Food Urge...

I have been busy with some family stuff the whole weekend, and coming back home exhausted after a long day. I have this urge once I get home to pass out by 7 or 8 pm but then my stomach growls and I can’t really think straight.

The case in point being right now, the only thing I can think of is food and not any food, specifically junk food. I’m craving McDonalds, Burger King, or something on that level. I keep thinking about Chicken Nuggets or the Fries or Double Cheese Burger. This would entail me driving to a location to get the food, even though I am lazy as hell right now and my brain is nonfunctional. I love the feeling when you first open the bag and you get that smell but I know I’m doing damage to my digestive tract later on in the day, but that really doesn’t stop me from taking the initial bight. I’m even writing this when I’m half dazed and half hungry, and something in between.

iPod Touch Apps Switch Over...

I have shifted my iTunes Library from the crappy PC to the CORE PC (iCore7 Processor), its been running perfectly dual screen and pushing all its processing power to the edge. Since shifting the library to this new PC its been going smoothly, I have synced all the videos and music to my iPod Classic and Nano 4G, when you sync it all the previous data gets erased so you have a fresh install.

Now the issue I am facing with the iPod Touch is the applications. I haven’t really figured out how to shift all the applications to the new computer, the free ones are simple enough but what about the applications that I have paid for, how do I go about shifting them?

BMW Keys...

You find out something new every day, every time I would get in the beemer I would get a few minor tweaks that I have been postponing for a little while. The one thing I don’t miss is when my car burns through the oil, I go for the top up.

I went in for an oil top up since it was running a little low. One of the other errors I keep getting on my screen was low battery in my key, one the features that I have enjoyed with my car for a few years now is push start without having to take my keys out of my pocket. At the time very few cars had it, but now its pretty common. When I went in for the oil top up I told them about the error regarding my key having a low battery. I thought they would just replace one of those really small batteries. The service guy asked if I put my key into the car or just switch it on while in my pocket. I told him that over the past couple of years I have never taken the key out of my pocket. He said that it has a recahargeable battery and that I need to plug the key into the car and start it to charge it up. I felt a little dumb since I usually read up as much as possible on the car but this time I just asked and got a very simple answer.

NBK – Card & More...

Recently my card was red flagged for having suspicious use, it seems my card security was compromised in Dubai. Unluckily for me, they locked my account without any notification while I took off to the states. I wasn’t aware of all this. I tried using my check card a few times while I abroad and it kept getting rejected, and calling Kuwait from abroad is a bit difficult. After calling they told me that my card was copied in Dubai somehow and unauthorized amount was taken from the account, yet I wasn’t notified. I could only withdraw after I make a phone call and waiting for them to open the account. I manage to work with that and the accept the situation.

When I came back, I went to the branch which had my new card waiting. When I went they told me it was canceled because it has been there for a month, so I have to wait about 3 days for a new one, but it wasn’t ready except after 10 days. I don’t know where these banks print their credit cards, but can’t they expedite these cards? Nobody has offered a service to print cards faster for banks?

Not having access to your money isn’t the worst of it in my opinion, changing your online login is the worst part. I logged in and I could no longer perform any online service without having to reorder an ePin and wait three days. Seriously the banks in Kuwait could not think of making this a simpler experience.

SCHMINT...

Who would have realized something so tasty could have a bad affect on you in a strange way. I usually have a few of these little Schmint boxes with me in the car or in my room. There was a period towards the beginning of last week that I would have at least two every hour or two, just pop them in and they are tasty and supposedly good for your teeth.

After a day I was having some bowl problems, I wasn’t sure why that was happening. I assumed I ate something that I wasn’t supposed to because I don’t feel like I caught a virus of sorts. This lasted for a few days, and I still couldn’t figure it out, I wasn’t feeling any pain, its was odd. My friend then tells me as we are driving to Shuweikh that I shouldn’t eat too many Schmints, I asked him why, he said the chemical that helps clean the teeth in that mint causes diarrhea when consumed too many times, since then I only eat it every once in a while and everything went back to normal. Who knew? There was no warning sticker on the back of that schmint, if I was in the states I would sue for millions!

Sunny Day Out...

Saturday was a bit of an odd day, I woke up around 8 am, wide awake for some reason even though I didn’t get much sleep only a few hours. I got on my computer and performed the usual rituals of checking the status of all machines, and then everything else. Checking mail, moving around a few files, extracting tv shows and movies, and then getting up a while later.

Headed out of the of the house around 10:30 am going towards Salhiya with a friend to pick up a few items for the family. Spent an hour there, getting what we needed, a drink from Starbucks, my friend has to have his coffee.

Then we spent a while looking for a spare battery for a Blackberry Bold in Sharq. Turns out there are no spare parts for any Blackberry phone, even from MTC or their certified repair center I2 in Khaleejeeya.

Then met up with the family at Avenues, and I saw the kids there. We had lunch at Cafe Blanc with very nice out side seating. There were a lot of people enjoying the day at Avenues, lots of families and kids running about. We kept saying hello to so many people, and it was nice seeing people out. The weather today was odd, raining in the morning, sunny in the afternoon, so people were mixed about the weather and going to Avenues was a safe bet. We were having a lot of fun sitting outside, but the best part was when we took the kids from Barooi, so many kids running around. My nephew had the Batman Symbol painted onto his whole face and my niece had a butterfly painted on her whole face, they both looked cute, but nice looked adorable. Of course like usual she treated me with little attention until she enjoyed being carried. We walked around for a little while and that was a fun, and as we were walking we kept stopping and saying hello to people.

It was nice for once to see so many normal and happy people enjoying themselves in Avenues, even when it was getting late. You usually see the riff raffs come out, but I’m assuming because the government schools are on vacation most of them are out of town.

Food Mess Up...

My feeding pattern in the states and returning to Kuwait has been rollercoaster of every type of food that comes to mind. There is so much to eat in the states, and I ate most of it or what ever that could fit. I tried to keep active which I was successful for some time but towards the end I wavered. Recently in Kuwait things have a bit hectic on my end so I eat at odd times and I don’t think of food until I am extremely hungry, and its usually late. When I do eat the first thing that happens is that I fall asleep where ever I am, I am thankful for having the ability to sleep anywhere, literally anywhere.

I’m going to try to shape up again, I know I gained some weight but I’m still in the minus from before so instead of losing 12 KGs, I gained 4 KGs so technically I still lost 8 KGs. Its funny when I justify things to myself, I’m happy at least knowing that I can drop it now but I have to stick to it like I did before, and that I am planning to do.

What I have been eating recently in Kuwait:

  • Chicken Machboos
  • Laham Machoos
  • Mawash Laham
  • Mawash Emrabian (Shrimp)
  • McDonalds
  • Shawara Dahiat Abdullah Al Salem (Damn Good)
  • Maki (A lot of Sushi)
  • Chinese Food
  • A few other things that I forgot

Did I gain weight? Yes
Am I going to lose it? I’m crossing my fingers

Too Lazy...

You know you have been too lazy when you have put some tasks aside for over a week now. Most of them are things that have to do with organization and cleaning up. I know that doing it all would take about two to three hours, but its a lot of items and requires a lot of thinking. I just seem to come back to my room after a long day, sit on my chair, watch some Anime or TV shows and time goes by and I end up not complete these tedious tasks.

  • Putting away new books and comic books
  • Organizing all the new wires, and small electronic items I have laying on the floor
  • Organizing over 3000 pictures which I have taken over the past three months (That would take a decent amount of time, just too lazy to start)
  • Installing new KVM Switch (Dual DVI Input(x4), Dual DVI Output (x1)))(Requires a lot of rewiring, and I don’t feel like sitting under my desk and untangling the wires)
  • Installing the new iCore 7 PC (Tied with the KVM)
  • Going through some clothes, and organizing the few items I bought
  • Organizing the wiring behind the other side of the room, too many networking cables
  • Organizing files between computers since I’m taking a few offline and scrapping them for spare parts

When you take them individually I think they are doable tasks, but just knowing where to start is annoying me. I want to complete it all, or I want it all completed, but I hate anyone touching my wires or my stuff.
