First Weekend!!!...

sand-storm.jpg

This is the first weekend I have been in town for a while now! Too much work and too much traveling! This weather is insane! I don’t know what happened but the sand storm is kicking in at high gear! I was planning on going to pick up dvds, but it seems like the government is on the move again and they are just trying to catch these guys who sell dvds in Hawally! This is annoying! I would buy original if they allowed into the country without any issues! I have a few options though!

Tonights List:

  • 24
  • Soccer game at 9:30pm (Some friends want to watch and I dont mind!)
  • Going to search through the movie list I got! I think I might start dlin movies at this rate!

I want to ride this weekend and watch The Unit and maybe some anime!

The Transplant!...

nse2.jpg
Last time I used a Sony Ericsson was back in 2000 when they first came out with the bluetooth headset and I remember that it was a black and white screen but damn it was dependable!

Now I was switching between a Nokia to a Sony Ericcson and I didn’t want to install any software on a computer to complete the transfer! So I decided that I dont need to keep any of the old text msgs, I just want my numbers!

The Process:

  • I established a full trusted bluetooth connection between the W880i and the E60.
  • I decided how I wanted to start off the transfer to keep it manageable, I would do it by numbers and letters starting from the bottom going up!
  • So I start with 7, then 3, then Z, then Y, and all the way up to A
    • So for Z I would Mark all the names that start with Z and then start a bluetooth transfer to the W880i, and then I would compare all the names starting with Z between the phones before proceeding to the next letter or number until I was finished, a few times I was lazy about checking so I think I had a few missing which I will find out with time!
  • This whole process took about an hour and a half because of the checkin and marking, the bluetooth transfers were extremely fast.

As of right now I’m really enjoying how light this phone is, and I have to say that it is decently loud for its size, but you barely feel the vibrate feature of this phone. The menu is simple enough but I keep end phone calls when I want to just clear something, its all really funny getting used to it, but I am enjoying it. I will post a full review after thurough usage!

Lebanon!...

DSC02347.jpg

I can’t blame all the people that love this place! The people, the food, and the atmosphere are all great, what I like the is the abundance of nice restaurants and nice places to go to in Beirut and the surrounding areas. I barely had time to rest in my room since I was out until late at night and I had meetings early in the morning, the surprising part was that I wasn’t that tired until I got back to Kuwait.

There is one thing that comes to mind when driving in Lebanon its called Organized Chaos, its about how much the other person will give and how much your willing to risk while driving. From what I understood the tax they put on new vehicles is around 60% if you import the car and try to pay the import fees, that is a steep amount. Suprisingly I saw a lot of Ferraris, BMWs, and other nice cars with Lebanese plates and some nice numbers as well. I barelly had anytime to go to any of the shopping areas because of work and going out with friends. I barely even had enough time to take pictures since I was running around so much, I will be visiting again and I hope soon just to explore it properly and at my own pace. We also visited some family friends who are staying in Lebanon for the time being in the mountain areas above Hamdoon. Lebanon has a very nice mix, you have access to an amazing City Life, and you can have the relaxing lifestyle in the Mountains as well, just beautiful. I just hope things work out in Lebanon since its a such a beautiful place and the people are all amazing, its sad seeing things not working out, I just hope it does soon.

Places I really liked:

Restaurants:

  • Claudias
  • Mhanna
  • Julias
  • Zinc

Lounge/Club:

  • Krystal
  • Casino
  • Zinc
  • Matees

Boutique Hotel:

  • Albergo

These are just some of the nice places, and there are a lot of places I know I didn’t have a chance to visit or even see how the shopping is after all this time. I just have to say that it is really worth a visit. I hope to be going back again in the near future when I have enough time.

MTC Problems...

mtc.jpg

I have been having some issues with MTC over the past weekend, they have been driving me up the wall! My usual phone bill is between 110 to 200 KD a month depending on how much international calls I have to make. I always pay on time and I dont have any issues.

My recent bill from MTC was around 380 KD which is rediculous since its way more then what I expected. They seem to be charging whatever suits them at this point. I made sure it got paid, but the next day while I was in Lebanon my phone was disconnected, after contacting the MTC contact center they said it was a mistake and that the billing didn’t show that it was paid earlier until now. They said they would return the service.

To return the service it was supposed to take 10 minutes to an hour. It took over 9 hours for my phone to start working again, then the other issue was that none of my services were working, I didn’t have Call Waiting, Caller ID, Call Forwarding, and anything else I had. I had to keep calling back to check if it was activated, and none of the services were activated again until 48 hours later. I wasn’t getting pissed at the call center people since it wasn’t their fault and they kept apologizing, even the managers were apologizing because they were having a problem with their system!

Get the phone back to normal drove me nuts, and I asked for a full detail of last month’s bill to see what phone calls I was getting charged for and how did it get so rediculous! I’m just pissed that it took MTC this long to return all the services!

Recuperating!...

I had a bit of rough time on Saturday, I passed out on Friday night at 9:00pm because I was too exhausted and I couldn’t eat much since my stomach would feel a bit weezy. I woke up at 4am on Saturday I had the intention to go to work, but for the life of me I couldn’t move out of bed and my stomach felt like somebody switched on a blender in there. I was given some medicine by the doc called Bascopan, and I could only take it a few times a day and it only subsided the pain for a bit!

priestessofthewhite.jpg

So from 4am until 11am I would be a awake for one to two hours and take 20 ro 30 minute naps inbetween. Since I couldn’t move from bed much I was reading the book Priestess of the White by Trudi Canavan. I loved the book from the beginning and I liked her previous books which I need to write a review about. This book is a fantasy book which revolves around an area called Ithania! Its a great story and I really am enjoying it!

elder_scrolls_large_3.jpg
At around 11am I was able to get up to go the basement to change where I am and I was getting really hungry! I felt like I had some energy in me after taking all these small naps inbetween reading the book. So then I went down to the basement to play The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for the first time on my X-Box 360 and I had my anime Godannar to watch. I had some soup, yogurt, and white rice for lunch, it did the job but I got hungry later on in the day. I played that game for over 6 hours straight and I only watched anime later on in the evening. That game is one hell of game and all I want to do now is develop my character. I also really enjoyed watching Godannar, and I almost finished it, I think I only have 2 episodes left from the whole series.

Later on the in the evening I had to go visit some family since they just arrived from a little bit of traveling. I went out a bit exhausted, but I wasn’t feeling too bad, I only stayed for 20 minutes and came back home. Then I had two yogurts before passing out for work the next day. Feeling better just a bit weak, and I want something juicy to eat but I dont know what would be the resulting!

Out of It...

serversleep.jpg

Sorry people! I haven’t been able to post much while in Lebanon since I barely even slept while I was there! Work all day and out all night! I think I only got an accumalitive 4 hours of sleep this whole weekend its insane! And on the last day I ate something that just didn’t agree with me.

So I had a minor case of food poisoning, and I was nauseated the whole time I was on the plane. It really didn’t feel good! I’m feeling a lot better after a whole days rest on saturday. I didn’t do much all day since I decided not to go to work, I would have been useless. I stayed in bed and I was reading my book for over 4 hours, and I am really enjoying the book. My stomach feels a little sensitive though, but a lot better, my system is pushing it out. I went to the doc and he said I need a couple more days and I shouldn’t eat oily foods since it will cause things to get unsettled.

Lebanon Here and There!...

night_club.jpg

This is one hell of a place! I have to say I dont know how a person could work here! Working all morning and then out all night! So many places to see and to be! So many beautiful people! I always knew that I liked Lebanese people, and now I know why! Everyone is just so damn nice, friendly, funny as hell, and its fun as hell hanging out with some friends and meeting their friends! I literally don’t stop in my place for long and I’m not getting much sleep! Work and Lebanon just don’t mix well! I dont think I will get much sleep tonight either, and I have meeting at 8 am in the morning plus my flight!

Travel Entertainment...

jazeera.jpg

On the plane I had a few things stored on my laptop to watch. Suprisingly I didn’t have time before to watch the last episode of Heroes before the April 23 airing!

Heroes Episdoe 18 is one hell of an episode! I really wasn’t expecting that! So much happened and so many questions, so many new paths have opened and the dots are connecting! And for the first time we have seen Lindermen! Damn, wasn’t expecting that! I can’t wait to see more! I want to see more! I don’t know whats going to happen towards the end of the season but the wait for next season is going to kill me!

I also wastched Naruto Shippuuden Episode 6 & 7! And now I want the other episodes! This is the difficult part when your following a show episode by episode! A crazy fight took place but now there is a big fight ahead and I’m not sure whats going to happen next, but one thing is for sure! Its going to be big!

I’m also happy I charged my mp3 player!

Off Again...

takeoff.jpg

This has been a nonstop week! And last night I was exhausted last night and I forgot about a few things! And I had to pack real early in the morning!

And now I’m at the airport about to take-off! Nonstop running around and this is the first time I got to Lebanon in about 6 years so its going to be interesting! Got a friend or two to meet with, and I have no clue where anything is, so I’m going to be taken around.
