After this extremely hectic and long day I am at last at home. I came home around 1am, and I was up from 6am. I reached the point where my brain was disconnected from my body and I was staring off into the night.
I went to a few election head quarters, went with family during the day got a quick bite to eat, and now this crazy day has to an end.
The funny part is I realized around 1:30am that I didnt have anything to eat, so I saw we had a couple of good looking mangos, so I cut up two for myself. And I have to say those were some amazing mangoes! I tasted amazing, I couldnt get enough of it.

And now because of the anime Im watching Im craving freshly baked bread! The kind fresh out of the oven and I stick into my mouth. And then jump in bed. Long Day. Good night people!
Dont write much political posts, because Im not much a political person and I try to follow alot of the candidates but you can only do so much to a degree. Today is Kuwait’s D-Day (WW-II Allied Forces invasion of Germany). We can only hope after these dark times that things will improve. Im getting up early to go take my mother to the women’s voting area, before going with my father later in the day to go to the men’s voting area. And then so much to do today, really a long day today. Going to take my camera with me if possible. Good luck to everyone o inshalla we shall see the results soon.

The concept of working from home, or setting up business from home is a very alien concept. I was thinking about this while I was at work. I would really want to be home right now and who doesnt. I would use Real VNC to do work from home. I thought that would be perfect.
Some of my friends in the states would do work from home instead of going in sometimes if they dont have any meetings I thought that would be ideal. But then I came to the realization that is impossible to do work at home in Kuwait. Most people I know live with their families at home even if they have been working for years. If they stay home and do work, their family will say “oh he isnt working he is just sitting down stairs on the computer and making a few phone calls” and you would get harrassed! Sometimes I try and read emails from work at home, and if Im doing that it seems that it is categorized as a form of entertainment here! lol! They tell me basik le3ib hel computer, it isnt considered work unless you get a serious phone call and your sitting at a desk.
So it seems in my case you cant do work from home, and probably other people’s cases as well! hehehehe!

wake up: 6:30am
work @ 7:30am
leave work @ 3:00pm (nothing gets done in Kuwait after 2:00pm)
get home by 3:15pm (I drive fast)
lunch @ 3:20pm (I call before I leave hehehe)
Done with lunch by 4:00pm
Get online and surf and random stuff until 6:00pm
Fifa with family until 8:00pm
Then with family until 10:00pm
Fifa with family until 12:00am (or longer)
Get in room and continue surfing until 1:00am
Asleep by 1 or 2 depending on online content.
Rinse and Repeat.
With this scheduelle I am getting crap sleep! lol! World Cup, Work, Family, Anime, and other stuff.. just not enough time in the day.
Then there are those days where I just pass out in the afternoon because my batteries are just running low! I just switch off like a Nokia phone! Trying to squeeze every last minute of being awake then poof! Out!
So much to do but not enough time!
I have to say that I am steak type of man. Not just any steak! Real Steak! I think the best Meats I have ever eatin are in the Steakhouses in San Francisco and a few Argentinian Restaurants in Miami! But right now im going to mention the top 5 Steakhouses in Northern California, and i have eaten there quite a few times over the past 6 years. Hopefully who ever is reading this will try one of these places soon!! And they are difficult to rank because it depends on the kind of meat you like to eat! But these are ranked based on my preference.
Alexanders (Sunnyvale/Mountainview, CA)
House of PrimeRib (San Francisco, CA)
SunDance (Palo Atlo, CA)
Harris (San Francisco, CA)
Ruth’s Chris Steak House (San Francisco, CA)
I took a few pictures while eating. And wearing a bib, I needed it.

Alexanders has the largest combination of meat, and amazing tasting meat. Sundance has some really good steak and fish with some interesting apetizers. Ruth’s Chris, House of PrimeRib, and Harris’s restaurants serve specifically steak and only a few kinds of steaks with some sides! I could never get enough of these restaurants unless I was broke and that happened a lot! And the waiters who work at these restaurants have been working there for years if not decades, and it is amazing just listening to the stories they have. These places have history and soul, and that is what makes the food taste even better. If anyone gets a chance to eat at any of these places I really recommend to go.
This is pretty funny. Our main kitchen is the basement and from the main grill there is a big aluminum pipe going all the way to the top with a fan on the top sucking the air out. So the smell of food comes out through the top. I was called at work by our handy man, and he was giving me options while I was working on something. One is aluminum, the other is steel, and one cobination steel and aluminum. I thought the options were endless! lol! And he told me the steel one is too heavy and it would take 6 days to install with modifications to the piping, the aluminum and steel requires modification as well and would take four days, but the aluminum would take four hours since it just needs some modification to the fitting. Then I told him why is he asking me if he already thinks one is better then the other. Then he tells me he needs my “OK” to go ahead. So I gave him my “OK”.
And when I just came home from a quick meeting the whole house smells like food! Its just making me hungrier and I do find it entertaining that everywhere right now smells like Chicken! hehehehe!
This is a very interesting subject that I have been bouncing around in my head for the past few weeks. It required some thought, and asking around.
The average person in Kuwait doesnt know how to shave, and Im talking about Kuwaiti guys that I have spoken to. Most expats shave at home, and have learned one way or another. But most people I have asked dont know how to use a blade, and they dont like the machines.

Some of those shaving machines cause an irritation on the skin. These machines do get a close shave, but for some people they just dont do the job right. I havent tried them, because I dont have the kind of beard needed to use this kind of machine. And when I have used them it feels like they are pulling the hair out of my cheek instead of cutting it! And Im not the first person to say that!

Some people have trimmers, and thats what I used to use to get the right trim around my mustache or goatee or anything else I want to give an edge to. There were many times where I would make one side burn a lot longer then other one because I was too lazy to concentrate! But with time I learned to get better at it.

The odd thing about shaving with a razor blade is that most kuwaities I know dont know how. Thats why you always see these guys with full beards coming back from the US. They think they will just shave when they get back since they come back so often. And thats what I used to think to, until I started not coming back except for Christmas break!
Another conclusion I have made is that there is no barber-shop in all of the US close to as good as the ones here in Kuwait. Im not kidding I tried lots of barber shops in San Francisco, Bay Area, Los Angeles, San Diego, New York, Chicago, Denver, Miami, St. Paul, and Las Vegas. None of them come close to 7alaaq Shuweikh! hehehe!

One of my friends in the states had a really nice shaving kit from Art of Shaving and so I decided to try it out. When I tried it and it wasnt bad at all. I really liked how smooth my skin was, and I was using a Mach 3 blade, and the Art of Shaving gel. It felt amazing! So smooth and nice, and I learned from then on the best time to shave is just after a shower. Now in Kuwait I look forward to going to the barbershop. Its one of the highlights of the day! I dont wait and try to jam myself in for an appointment. I talk my time and make sure that I have lots of time to relax and get a good shave in after my head has been shaved off real quick!
But now when I travel I do shave by myself and I used the new Gillete Fusion which was also great, but you cant buy it in Kuwait yet. But I was surprised to find out so few guys in Kuwait knew how to shave on their own. It just seems that it was never a neccessity for them to learn, but it is an odd fact to learn. But nothing beats the feeling after getting a nice clean shave!
I came back from work! Im kind of hungry, and my mother had a late breakfast. So lunch was going to be late. I wasnt really going to have lucnh without her, but I was still damn hungry. Then I noticed something out of the corner of my eye on a small table that was there before!

DELICIOUS looking brownies! So I asked her when we got these and who made them. She told me that my sister-in-law sent them. I did care from where or how they got here the more I looked at them. I have a weakness for Dark Chocolate, Brownies, and Chocolate Moose. But they have to be amazing! So I snuck up on the unsuspecting brownies! They were going to be devoured by ME!
At the end of this post all shall be consumned!!! Damn it was good!
I was hungry while writing this post, and now I feel good! hehehehe!
I was driving to work early this morning. I had a few things I wanted to take care of before my meeting, and I slept early because I was so tired. Basically I passed out around 10pm I was so tired, but I woke up refreshed!!
I got the road driving normally, I was on King Malik Fahad Highway on my way to work, and I was on the exit to take the Fifth Ring Road. That exit is like a long curved bridge where you can see the temperature tower on your left. On that exit I was taking my time and when I see this 1988 Chevrolet Caprice with an old guy driving it. I didnt know what exactly he wanted to do, but was eyeing because he seemed to be acting wierd or he really doesnt know how to drive. Suddenly he decided to right and cut across three lanes to get to the exit which he still had ample time to get on. I dont know if it was his binoculars for glasses or something else that made him react that way, but he was lucky no car was in the way, well except for ME! I was all the way on the right. I thought he might stop, but suddenly I could tell his car wasnt going to stop. So I dropped the Landcruiser one gear down, no cars were close behind me, I had to go into the dirt on the right and quick, but he still wasnt stopping. So I gave the breaks all that I had and I gave the clutch one hell of a hiccup, and I managed to avoid him, BARELY!
It looked like he hit me, but I was just really really close. And it seem he didnt know that he did anything wrong! I backed off and then I pulled to the left quick and took off. He got back in the lane as if nothing happened! Everyone around him was keeping at least 10m away from him. I was happy I got out of that one with only a shock instead of crash. I really dont know whats wrong with the guy, but I didnt want to find out! Damn what a way to start the morning!
So my cousin’s wife was out with the kids, and my mother was having people over so I decided to go over to my cousins house to watch the soccer game, and I brought my psp along to play an rpg game together through adhoc. Whats funny is that he is 35 and Im 24, and have been playing games together for over 15 years! From Twisted Metal, to Final Fantasy 3, and so many other games. And his cook makes a mean chow mein that I cant stop eating!
We started playing the PSP game against each other, and he beat me a few times and I beat him a few times. His character was more of a brute type in the rpg and mine was faster stealthy type. He would kick my ass in one on one combat. The game was fun as hell, but then we both went into one player mode trying to level, just before the game started.
We watched Saudi get annaialated by Ukraine, and we watched as Tunis put up a good fight against Spain, but lost in the end. The Saudi goal keeper was horrible, and he couldnt stop any ball. I felt like I was watching a Qadsiya vs. Kathma game! But that aside dinner was on the table, and we put the last episode of Stargate Atlantis that we have been saving to watch inbetween the games! And damn that was a good episode!
I went home tired, but it was a fun night! I really enjoy nights like those!
